Elliot and the Expedition Army fought back the maddened [Primordial Blood] while Phoenix opened a passage to the Present World. Afterward, Elliot learned the truth behind the Imperial Throne and found Dorothea behaving strangely after attempting Ascension.

• Dorothea learned from Phoenix that her father’s pill could have changed the events surrounding Elsa and the moon, then warned him that a [Worm] inside Moonheart would soon emerge.
• Elliot and Elsa discovered that the [Worms] were attacking [Primordial Blood], while Maeve could no longer control the maddened deity and the Fleet prepared to abandon the Ritual.
• The Great Being chose to guard the passage, and Elliot took control of Vanessa to command the Expedition Army as [Primordial Blood] approached.
• Allen’s [Spirituality Mark] attacks damaged [Primordial Blood], and the Dream Creatures joined with the three Nightmares to form a tendril that drove it back.
• Phoenix completed the ritual and opened a passage to the Present World, while Elliot helped the Expedition Army collect pieces of [Primordial Blood] and chose [Amber] as Elsa’s Talent.
• Elsa tested [Amber] on Allen and learned that it could preserve him without memory of the time sealed, but releasing him was necessary for [Breakthrough] to return him to his original position.
• Sidney, Victoria, and Michel discussed the Empire’s succession and crisis, and Victoria explained that the Imperial Throne and Theresia’s statue helped suppress monsters beneath the Palace.
• Elliot rejected Sidney’s proposed political marriage, secured a written IOU for the resources he gave the Royal Family, and found Dorothea marked [Out of control] after her Ascension attempt.

Elliot joined Sidney’s return to the Imperial Capital, where the ruined Throne and its released monsters forced Sidney to become the Empire’s new empress. The Sacred Blood Nobles seized control afterward, and Crawford vowed vengeance against them and Elliot.

• Dorothea accepted her past, completed her Ascension, and received the Sovereign Ascension card with Frenzied Crow Assault.
• Elliot used a Vessel to operate the Difference Engine, while Sidney prepared the Expedition Army to return to the Imperial Capital.
• Sidney led the Expedition Army through the passage and into the capital, where the nobles had gathered inside the Imperial Palace around the ruptured Throne.
• Elliot learned that Isaac’s Door was only delaying the monsters, and Sidney decided to take the Throne despite its cost.
• Victoria begged Sidney not to proceed, but Sidney completed the coronation ritual, became the new empress, and drew the Vortex into the Throne.
• Tobias and the Sacred Blood Nobles attacked the Expedition Army, killed Michel, and drove Victoria into Permanent Madness.
• Tobias confined Elliot at the Sterling mansion, where Crawford confronted him and vowed to kill the Seven Holy Bloodlines and Elliot in revenge for Sidney.

Elliot defied the nobles, secured control of the Hearthfire District, and helped the Communion steal the Night Watch Bureau’s true core. As the Empire’s protections faltered, Elliot and Vanessa pursued clues about the Thrice-Great, Simon’s advancement, and Elsa’s growing powers.

• Crawford agreed to Elliot’s demand for a vote, and Tobias declared that the [Prophet in the Urn]’s prophecy had failed for the first time since the Second Era.
• Elliot sacrificed Elsa’s corpse to [Nameless Justice], sealed the Throne with [Amber], and persuaded the nobles to abandon operations against the Sterling Family.
• Sia forged Dorothea a Chef’s Knife, while Elliot used Honey to advance Sia and Vanessa and Elsa continued to develop new powers.
• Elliot confronted the Nobles’ House with Theresia and the Azure Blade, then secured the Hearthfire District and access to the Imperial Palace after Crawford became emperor.
• Vanessa, Eleanor, Allen, and Dorothea raided the Night Watch Bureau, stole [The Thinker]’s true core and removed its door with a sacrifice, escaping Tobias’s ambush.
• Elliot learned that the stolen core was the original [Philosopher’s Stone] and suspected his sacrifice had disrupted the Imperial Capital’s energy supply.
• As the nobles planned to stop supporting Theresia, Elliot considered the harm to poorer districts and orphanages, placed [Path: Glimmer] into the Difference Engine, and looked into rescuing Sidney’s subordinate.
• Vanessa investigated Simon’s strange Formless Arts and the pages from [Mourning Poems], while Elliot considered whether the Thrice-Great could establish a new era and Elsa reached fifth rank.

Elliot and his allies confronted the Blood Moon’s escape, rescued Maeve from Primordial Blood, and began investigating Holly’s disappearance. Holly’s return to Sidney’s palace triggered a devastating clash with the Sacred Blood Nobles, after which Elliot shifted toward attacking them and learned that Flora had completed the Thing of Immortality.

• Elliot chose new talents for Elsa and Simon, helping Elsa summon the Blood Moon and Simon transform into a flying, heavily armored insect.
• Elliot gathered the Communion to enter the Sea of the Moon, where Primordial Blood fled from the Worms and Maeve began losing herself to its influence.
• Elsa summoned the Blood Moon, and Will restored the shattered moon before Elliot and Elsa found Maeve within Primordial Blood.
• Elliot used Elsa’s Honey Fruit to help Maeve regain control, then explored Moonheart with Elsa and concluded that the Worms had been guiding events without attacking them.
• Elliot vowed to rescue Sidney and Victoria as Elsa, Dorothea, and Simon searched for Holly, while Vanessa took over as acting Cult Leader.
• Vanessa followed Holly to Sidney’s palace and saw her transform a room into a First Era ruin, retrieve a golden-haired person, and trigger an explosion that destroyed the Palace.
• Vanessa fought the black-flamed attacker as Isaac opened a passage for Tobias and the Sacred Blood Nobles, but the passage closed and killed a high-ranking Trenchard Supernatural.
• Elliot confronted Tobias and the nobles, killed a Trenchard Supernatural, and returned to plan an offensive against the nobles before learning that Flora had completed the Thing of Immortality.
