Background / History
The Qin Family’s Grudge
Qin De inherited a six-hundred-year feud with the Xiang imperial family. According to the history he recounted to his sons, Xiang Yu betrayed the Qin Family’s ancestor and seized the realm. The Qin Family subsequently endured under Xiang rule while secretly accumulating strength 6.
His personal vendetta centered on his wife’s death. After she died, he swore to overthrow the Xiang dynasty and cultivated tirelessly toward the Golden Core realm. He later identified Xiang Guang as the man who had sent assassins after Jingxiang, who died in Qin De’s arms 14 49.
Preparing the Flying Eagle Plan
After Qin Feng reported Qin Chen’s extraordinary strength, Qin De summoned Qin Feng, Qin Zheng, and Qin Chen to a secret chamber in Yanjing City. He disclosed the family’s history and announced the Flying Eagle Plan, an uprising intended to reclaim the realm 6.
Qin Chen then presented the Primordial Ancestral Dragon Art, claiming that an immortal had bestowed it in a dream. Qin De accepted the explanation as ancestral and heavenly favor, immediately adopting the superior method. He also supported Qin Chen’s request to learn artifact and pill refining, bringing Feng Yuzi and Mu Qing to teach him 7 8 10.
The Dragon-Tiger Pill formula gave Qin De a means to strengthen his army. He ordered the Heavenly Web’s four divisions to purchase dragon blood grass and tiger bone vine secretly across the Qianlong Continent. Qin Chen’s subsequent production supplied an army-building program that eventually produced fifty thousand peak Houtian soldiers 13 22 23.
Father and Son’s Tribulations
When thirteen-year-old Qin Chen announced his intention to undergo a Golden Core tribulation, Qin De selected Black Wind Grand Canyon and arranged troops, intelligence agents, formation equipment, and spirit stones to protect him. He remained in Yanjing because his own movements risked attracting Xiang surveillance 14 15.
For his own tribulation, Qin De chose the Gale Mountains. He and Qin Chen deliberately leaked the news to lure out the Xiang Family’s experts. Qin Chen intercepted and killed Wu De and Wu Xing, while Qin De survived the lightning and formed his Golden Core. Their trap removed two mid-stage Golden Core retainers from the enemy’s forces 23 24 25.
Qin De later allowed Qin Chen to seek opportunities overseas despite his reluctance to part with him. Qin Chen left him an emergency communication talisman and continued sending cultivation resources home through Xiaobai 27 36 44.
Conquest and Great Qin
Qin De initially intended to delay the uprising until the family’s cultivation had stabilized. After Qin Chen returned and demonstrated Nascent Soul cultivation, he ordered the Flying Eagle Plan launched that night. The Fierce Tiger Army captured more than half of Chu State in less than half a month before surrounding the imperial capital 47.
Xiang Yang attempted to destroy Qin De’s command position, but Qin Chen intercepted the attack and killed him. Qin De then ordered the army into the Imperial City. When surrendered guard commanders delivered Xiang Guang, Qin De personally beheaded him to avenge Jingxiang 47 48 49.
After the conquest, Qin De delegated military and administrative consolidation to Qin Feng and Qin Zheng. Rather than immediately proclaiming himself emperor, he concentrated on cultivation, regarding strength as the lasting foundation of the family’s position 49.
Within the following six months, he renamed Chu State Great Qin and retained the former imperial city as its capital. He appointed Qin Feng Great General Who Guards the North and Qin Zheng crown prince 50.
Personality
Qin De is normally composed and calculating, but his sons’ achievements repeatedly overwhelm that restraint. He openly weeps with pride at Qin Chen’s breakthroughs and privately delights when Feng Yuzi and Mu Qing compete to teach him. He is also willing to trust Qin Chen with major responsibilities, granting him control of the Heavenly Web without demanding an explanation 7 11 19.
His protectiveness is practical as well as affectionate. He organizes extensive security for Qin Chen’s tribulation, accepts his decision to leave the continent, and later comforts Qin Yu while encouraging him to continue cultivating 14 27 49.
Against perceived threats, he is ruthless. His security orders authorize killing suspicious people rather than risking an infiltrator’s escape, and his vengeance against Xiang Guang takes precedence over offers of wealth or the throne. Once that vengeance is fulfilled, he readily returns to cultivation and delegates much of the work of governing 14 49.
