"Got it, Aunt Li Mei!"

Hearing Li Mei's words, the children all answered and stayed behind her, waiting quietly.

Though it was still early in the morning, the streets outside Red Mountain Academy were already packed. Parents were everywhere, bringing their children to undergo Martial Soul Awakening. The children were all around six years old, the minimum age for a soul power awakening.

In the Sun Moon Federation, it was not only a right but also an obligation for children of the appropriate age to undergo Martial Soul Awakening. To the Federation, even the lowest-ranked soul master was an important resource.

Parents constantly emerged from the academy gates with their children. The vast majority looked dejected, their faces filled with regret. Clearly, their children's Innate Soul Power was zero, leaving them unable to embark on the path of a soul master.

At the teacher's call, Yao Xuan and the other children rose to their feet and ran toward him excitedly.

"Come with me."

The teacher gave the children before him a calm instruction, then led them into the academy.

As he walked along the academy path, Yao Xuan kept looking around. Compared to Earth, this place was not all that different: white roofs and red walls, neat and elegant in appearance, and very quiet.

"Alright. In order, go to the awakening rooms and undergo your Martial Soul Awakening."

Upon arriving before a domed Teaching Building, the teacher stopped, turned around, and instructed the children.

A middle-aged man stood at the center of the awakening room. He wore an ancient orange robe embroidered with patterns depicting several kinds of Soul Beasts. He was a Spirit Master from the Spirit Pagoda. Looking at Yao Xuan, he gave the instruction gently.

Had an ordinary child dawdled like this, the Spirit Master would certainly have been somewhat annoyed by now. As a Spirit Master, his time was precious. Yet when he looked at Yao Xuan, he inexplicably felt a sense of closeness, and his tone softened considerably.

"Sorry, Uncle. Those patterns looked so amazing that I got carried away looking at them."

The Spirit Master's words brought Yao Xuan back to his senses. He trotted over to the man and apologized.

Hearing the Spirit Master's words, Yao Xuan followed his instructions and stood within a red circle on the floor before him.

Seeing that Yao Xuan was ready, the Spirit Master gave an instruction and then closed his eyes.

As the Spirit Master spoke, a ball of white light appeared in his hand, radiating a gentle glow.

Just then, the Spirit Master raised his right hand and pointed toward the dome overhead. The ball of white light that had been in his hand shot upward and poured into the Soul Guiding Array within the awakening room.

As soul power entered it, array patterns throughout the awakening room lit up one after another. Starting from the ceiling, they spread down along the walls before finally converging within the red circle beneath Yao Xuan's feet.

A warm energy flowed into Yao Xuan through the soles of his feet. His body trembled slightly, the scene before his eyes blurred, and his body began to heat up as waves of mysterious energy were released from within him.
