Chapter 70: The awakening of the demon within Chingetsu (please subscribe)
Chingetsu reached the door, then turned back to the Village Chief. "We agreed on five million. No backing out."
"No backing out, no backing out. You're truly generous, young man."
"Ueda, give me a hand. These old bones just don't work like they used to." Chingetsu neither agreed nor disagreed with the Village Chief's flattery.
The instant Chingetsu stepped outside.
The Village Chief gave the blacksmith beside him a meaningful look. Ueda understood and stepped forward to support him. After a walk of about three minutes.
Chingetsu stopped in front of a motorcycle.
The original owner of this flashy motorcycle was a biker gang member. He happened to have robbed a bank, and Chingetsu happened to have seen him. More coincidentally still.
To escape, the biker had completely ignored Chingetsu, who was waiting at the traffic lights directly ahead, and driven straight into him. As a result.
The bike and the money both belonged to Chingetsu.
The biker's life belonged to Satan. Chingetsu opened a leather case.
Inside, it was packed with ten-thousand-yen notes.
At a rough estimate, there were tens of millions of yen. "So much money."
The Village Chief stared, transfixed.
He swore he had only ever seen this much money on television in his entire life.
He looked at Chingetsu, whose back was turned to them, then at the cash inside the case.
The Village Chief silently took a step back, making a throat-slitting gesture to the blacksmith as he did so. Clearly.
Five million could no longer satisfy his desires. He wanted everything in the case. It was just a boy.
Out in this remote backwater, one person dying was no big deal. Especially when the dead person was an outsider.
Besides, this sort of thing.
Was not something they were doing for the first time. Seeing the Village Chief's gesture.
A vicious grin appeared on Ueda's lips. Compared with forging iron.
He preferred using a hammer to strike people's heads.
Ueda pulled a bloodstained hammer from his waist. He slowly moved behind Chingetsu.
It would take only one blow.
He could smash the boy's head open and kill him on the spot. Ueda raised the hammer, grinning viciously without a sound.
But. He did not see.
That Chingetsu, whose back was turned to him, also wore a strange smile. Ueda raised his hammer high.
As soon as he brought it down, he could smash the boy's head to a pulp. But the hand holding his hammer never came down.
"What is that Ueda doing?!"
Seeing Ueda still refusing to strike.
A sinister look flashed through the Village Chief's eyes. Neither the Village Chief nor Ueda saw.
A pale pink silhouette appear behind Chingetsu. It was Killer Queen!
Because ordinary people could not see Stands. So.
In the Village Chief's eyes.
Ueda simply looked as though he were standing there in a daze, holding his hammer motionless. But in reality.
The Stand Killer Queen had seized Ueda's hammer-wielding wrist. That was why Ueda could not bring his hammer down.
The moon slowly peeked out.
Clear moonlight spilled over the boy's silvery-white hair, creating a breathtaking sight. But Ueda had no mind to appreciate it now.
For some unknown reason, his hand had suddenly frozen in midair. And Chingetsu slowly turned his head.
"Big guy, are you trying to crack walnuts?"
Chingetsu's smile was as innocent as that of a boy next door. However.
To Ueda at that moment. It was the smile of a devil. "Come on, let me teach you."
Chingetsu closed the case and snatched the hammer from Ueda's hand.
"Watch closely. When cracking walnuts, you have to start at the edges, because that way you won't damage the kernel inside." Chingetsu spoke very seriously.
But cold sweat had already soaked Ueda's back. He wanted to flee.
But his body would not obey him at all.
It was as though something had restrained him. Smack!
The hammer in Chingetsu's hand rose high and came down hard. Blood mixed with bone fragments splattered everywhere.
Ueda watched helplessly as one of his feet burst into a pile of mashed flesh. Horrified, he tried to cry out, only to discover he had lost the ability to make a sound. Worse still.
His mind was unusually clear now.
The pain of his foot being smashed to a pulp fed back to his brain, almost multiplying in intensity. Ueda's eyes became bloodshot from the excruciating pain.
All he wanted now was to die quickly and end this inhuman suffering. "Say, big guy, this wasn't your first time killing someone, was it?"
Chingetsu examined the crusted blood on the hammer.
It was something that could only form after blood had been left to dry for a long time. Before he had finished speaking.
Chingetsu brought the hammer down again on Ueda's other, uninjured foot. "Sorry, I'm a bit compulsive."
Chingetsu smiled shyly. Veins bulged on Ueda's forehead. He wanted to pass out then and there. But clearly.
Chingetsu did not want to end the game so soon. "D... devil!"
The Village Chief watched from the side, his eyes practically splitting wide. His legs trembled, and he nearly fled.
At this point, money no longer mattered.
The Village Chief only wanted to get far away from this devilish boy, as far away as possible!
The Village Chief swallowed with difficulty and slowly edged backward. "Oh, there's another one here!"
Chingetsu acted as though he had only just noticed the Village Chief. But seeing the mockery in Chingetsu's eyes.
The Village Chief knew this "demon" was doing it deliberately. He had been watching him all along.
Run!
Now, immediately, this instant!
The Village Chief's mind was filled with thoughts of escape. But the next second.
He saw Chingetsu raise the hammer high and cleave Ueda's muscular body in two. "He actually... actually split a person in half with a blunt weapon."
The Village Chief stared blankly as Chingetsu passed between the two halves of Ueda's body and approached him with the bloodstained hammer. "No, don't!"
"Devil, you're a devil!"
The Village Chief seemed to have gone mad.
"A devil? In their eyes, you're a devil too, aren't you?"
"No, no, no, how could I insult devils? You're livestock at best." Chingetsu looked down at the Village Chief, his tone full of mockery.
"That big guy just now must have been what you relied on. Unfortunately, he didn't seem all that sturdy." A cruel smile appeared on Chingetsu's lips.
"He must be lonely down there. Why don't you go keep him company?"
Chingetsu's expression was three parts flippancy, one part pity, and the rest naked cruelty. "No, no, please."
"Someone, help! Someone, help!" the Village Chief cried at the top of his lungs.
Several more lights in the village went out at once.
"Looks like you aren't all that well loved." "To be honest, I wasn't planning to kill anyone today." Chingetsu paused.
"But some people are worse than Cursed Spirits." "So, would you please do me the favor of dying?"
Speaking in a requesting tone, Chingetsu raised the hammer in his hand. Ten minutes later.
Chingetsu pushed open the door to the Village Chief's house.
He walked up to the iron cage imprisoning the two sisters. Chingetsu reached out.
He made a loose grasping motion toward the iron cage.
Before the two sisters' stunned eyes.
Half of the sturdy iron cage seemed to have been forcibly erased. "Come on, come home with me."
Chingetsu held both hands out to the filthy sisters. "There's nothing to be afraid of anymore."
