Several figures sat facing one another in a dim room.
Nagato opened his eyes, his Rinnegan seeming capable of seeing through everything in the world.
"A new member I found for the Akatsuki!"
A new member?
So soon?
There were plenty of powerful ninja in the shinobi world, but few were suited to joining the Akatsuki. When Nagato first assigned Zetsu the task of finding new members, he had not expected him to find a suitable candidate so quickly.
He had never imagined Zetsu would act so swiftly!
Nagato and Konan both shifted their gazes from the Mysterious Masked Man to Akame.
The pretty girl stood silently in the shadows, her right hand gripping a sheathed blade. Her waterfall of long black hair fell down her back to the bends of her knees, and stubborn defiance shone in her crimson eyes.
"Her name is Akame!"
"She specializes in Wood Release and swordsmanship!"
"Akame is very strong. Even within the Akatsuki, few could match her."
The Mysterious Masked Man continued his introduction, then told Nagato and Konan about Akame's background.
"Orochimaru's subordinate? Interesting."
Nagato and Konan exchanged a glance. Interesting. The new member they had found this time was actually one of Orochimaru's experimental subjects.
Neither doubted Akame's strength. If she truly lacked ability, Zetsu and the Mysterious Masked Man would never have recommended her to them.
Uchiha Itachi, for example, had also joined the Akatsuki on the Mysterious Masked Man's recommendation.
Itachi's strength went without saying. No one in the Akatsuki questioned it. The main reason they had always remained wary of him was that they knew he would not be loyal to the Akatsuki.
