The three continued talking for a while, discussing the consequences of the Uchiha brothers' deadly battle.
"In that case, will Sasuke Uchiha return to the village?" Jiraiya could not quite figure it out, mainly because he knew very little about Sasuke.
But Naruto Uzumaki and the others hoped Sasuke would return, so perhaps it would be good if he did.
With the Shinobi World in turmoil and trouble striking the village, having a powerful fighter return would be a good thing.
Of course, that was merely Jiraiya's opinion.
Tsunade, who knew a little about the Uchiha Clan Massacre, shook her head. "It's unlikely. What happened back then... forget it. There's no way to talk about it now."
Jiraiya gleaned something from that. He roughly understood that the complications involved could not be explained in a sentence or two, so he could only set the matter aside.
Shihōin Naraku smiled. "A powerful Uchiha descendant who hates Konoha because his clan was wiped out-there really couldn't be a better pawn."
"If someone wanted to, they could stir up Sasuke's hatred of Konoha and gain a perfect pawn. So how could he possibly return to the village?"
"Sasuke is a hot commodity right now!"
True enough.
Once Naraku spelled it out, both of them understood.
"What a shame. Naruto will be disappointed. He brings up Sasuke Uchiha every so often." Jiraiya shook his head, his face full of regret.
He had thought of what had happened between him and Orochimaru back then, which led him to draw a connection to Naruto and Sasuke.
It seemed that, just like him and Orochimaru, Naruto and Sasuke could no longer be true comrades and close friends.
