What made him even more anxious was that his own body was nearly at its limit.
Even with the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path constantly replenishing his chakra, it could not last forever.
If he dragged this out any longer, he might really run out of time.
"Lord Madara," White Zetsu suddenly said, "we don't necessarily have to kidnap that little girl, do we? We could always take another approach."
Madara turned his head and glanced at him.
After hearing White Zetsu out, even this old man who had lived for nearly a century stiffened.
How had this creature come up with such a nasty trick?
"For a kid like Obito, with that... hmm, how should I put it, simp personality," White Zetsu snickered, "this would work even better than killing that girl outright."
Madara fell silent for two seconds.
"...What's a simp?"
White Zetsu choked.
How was he supposed to know what that word meant?
He had heard Xuan Zhe say it before, thought it sounded interesting, and remembered it, so he had casually used it.
Anyway, it described people like Obito, so as long as he had used it right, that was enough.
"Uh... it's..."
Over on the bed, Obito suddenly let out a muffled groan.
Both of them immediately shut their mouths.
"Hey, white guy, when am I finally going to recover completely?" Obito asked with a frown, scratching at the prosthetics on his legs. His hair had grown quite a bit, much longer than when he first arrived.
"Integrating with Hashirama's artificial body takes time to begin with," White Zetsu estimated offhandedly. "Besides, you were injured so badly. You'll need another two years and change, at least."
"That long?" Obito muttered. "I wanted to get out and see Rin sooner."
Madara lowered his head thoughtfully.
