Chapters 26–50 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 26Danzo took the bait

Uchiha Yan’s clanmates set a trap to make Danzo believe Kirigakure had internal problems, hoping to see whether he would act on Yan’s plan. Danzo took the bait and began considering a command of the Land of Water front, but worried that volunteering would make the Third Hokage suspicious.

  • Xiaren and Jinyan decided to test whether Danzo would cooperate with Yan’s plan, then arranged for two Uchiha children to discuss Kirigakure’s supposed troubles where a Root ninja could hear them.
  • The Root ninja reported the children’s conversation to Danzo, who ordered Kinoe to question Kakashi and Hyuga Taichi and Taka to gather intelligence on Kirigakure.
  • Kakashi confirmed to Kinoe that the team had encountered a Kirigakure ninja disguised as an Akatsuki member, and said Jiraiya’s disciple had killed him.
  • Danzo saw how little intelligence he had on Kirigakure and concluded something was wrong there, then considered taking command of the Land of Water front.
  • Danzo decided not to volunteer because he expected the Third Hokage to suspect him, and wondered how he could get the Hokage to order him to take command.

Ch. 27Uchiha Yan Wanted to Wipe Out the Clan

Danzo sent Root to provoke a fight with the Uchiha, and Jinyan’s response left villagers dead and injured. Uchiha Yan arrived too late to stop the destruction, awakened his Sharingan amid his fury, and blamed Jinyan for ruining the plan to bring Danzo down.

  • Danzo ordered Taka and two Root squads to seize Misa and Shinichi and provoke the Uchiha into fighting.
  • Jinyan and the Uchiha fought Root in the barbecue restaurant, setting off a battle that killed and injured villagers.
  • Yan realized Xiaren’s genjutsu had kept him from intervening and rushed with Kakashi to stop the fighting.
  • The Third Hokage arrived and challenged Jinyan, who refused to explain himself until Yan struck him and scolded him.
  • Yan’s anger awakened his Sharingan, and he told Jinyan that his stupidity had caused it.

Ch. 28Taking sole responsibility

Uchiha Yan explained how his plan to make Danzo cooperate with a staged clash had gone wrong when Jinyan and the others altered it, and he took responsibility for the deaths. The Third Hokage weighed how to protect Konoha’s morale and spare the Uchiha and Root, while Danzo demanded Yan be handed over.

  • Yan offered to explain the incident and shoulder all responsibility, and the Third Hokage ordered the Anbu to seal the fighters’ chakra and take them to the Hokage Building.
  • Xiaren warned Jinyan not to resist, and Yan told him to abandon the clan’s plan and wait for news.
  • At the Hokage Building, Yan revealed that he had planned a staged Uchiha-Root clash to secure Danzo’s cooperation, but Jinyan and the others had changed the plan.
  • Yan explained his reasoning to the Third Hokage and advisers, arguing that he had acted to prevent Danzo and the Uchiha from fighting together during the war.
  • Yan offered his life in exchange for giving the Uchiha and Root a chance to atone through service, while Jinyan protested and Danzo demanded Yan be interrogated by Root.
  • The Third Hokage rejected Danzo’s demand and privately considered how to keep Yan alive without discrediting the Hokage Building.

Ch. 29The Third Hokage was about to awaken the Sharingan too

The Third Hokage weighed the village’s need for justice against the loss of powerful fighters after Uchiha Yan took responsibility for the villagers’ deaths. Yan proposed sending the Uchiha and Root members to the Land of Rain and going to the Land of Water battlefield himself, while the Third Hokage also ordered Danzo to the front lines.

  • Uchiha Yan urged the Third Hokage to punish him, then suggested changing names, compensating victims’ families, and sending him to the Land of Water battlefield.
  • Uchiha Jinyan slashed his own face, prompting Yan to berate him and explain that Konoha needed his strength for the coming war.
  • The Third Hokage asked Danzo for his view, and Danzo unexpectedly recommended postponing judgment until the war ended.
  • Uchiha Yan proposed publicizing the truth, sending the Uchiha and Root members to the Land of Rain to hunt the Fourth Hokage’s killer, and taking his own place on the battlefield.
  • Danzo objected to the plan, but the Third Hokage ordered him to the Land of Water battlefield and threatened him with punishment if the war lasted more than a year.

Ch. 30Something was off

Uchiha Yan accepted the Third Hokage’s punishment and prepared to serve under Danzo in the Land of Water, while the Hokage considered using him to change the Uchiha Clan. After returning home, Yan began planning how Uchiha Jinyan could earn Nagato’s trust in the Land of Rain.

  • The Third Hokage ordered Yan to report to the Land of Water battlefield alone under Danzo’s command, and asked him to send over the Analects.
  • Koharu urged Hiruzen to kill Yan, but Hiruzen said Yan’s influence over the Uchiha and the book’s potential benefits made him worth keeping alive.
  • Yan told Kakashi he had sent Jinyan and the others to the Land of Rain to humble them and help Konoha gather intelligence about the Rinnegan.
  • Itachi gave Kakashi a copy of the Analects and said his chakra was recovering slightly faster; Yan doubted that he had truly cultivated haoran qi.
  • Yan used the system to generate ten plans for helping Jinyan gain Nagato’s trust in the Land of Rain.

Ch. 31Fugaku's decision

Uchiha Yan accepted responsibility for the incident and was assigned to the Land of Water battlefield alone, leaving Uchiha Fugaku furious and worried about his survival. Fugaku decided to send Yan a Summoning Contract, a ninja cat, and a forbidden jutsu, while also arranging support from Shisui’s team.

  • The Third Hokage and the advisers read Kakashi’s books, then Kakashi left to escort sealed-chakra prisoners out of the village and travel to the Land of Rain.
  • Hiashi warned Hizashi that Danzo might target Shinkō and advised him to ask Uchiha Yan for help if trouble arose on the Land of Water battlefield.
  • Uchiha Fugaku learned that Uchiha Jinyan and the others would track the Fourth Hokage’s killer, while Uchiha Yan would join Danzo alone to atone for the incident.
  • Yamanaka Yun explained that Yan had taken responsibility himself and had secured a lighter punishment for his clansmen by identifying the culprit behind the Nine-Tails’ Attack.
  • Fugaku ordered Inabi to send Yan a Summoning Contract and ask Cat Granny for a fine ninja cat, then decided to send Yan a forbidden jutsu and write to Shisui about supporting him.

Ch. 32Even if it means death, I have to go

Uchiha Yan brought Kakashi, Uchiha Jinyan, and the others to the Land of Rain, where he arranged for them to take missions and help protect the country’s people. He refused Konan’s plea to stay safe, insisting he had to go to the Land of Water battlefield despite the danger.

  • Uchiha Yan told Jinyan and Kakashi that he suspected the killer and ordered them to gather information on the Rinnegan and monitor the Land of Earth and the Land of Wind.
  • Uchiha Yan led the group into Amegakure and called for Konan and Yahiko, prompting Nagato to send Pain, Zetsu, and Konan to meet him.
  • Uchiha Yan explained that the group had been sent to the Land of Rain to guard against the Land of Earth and serve their punishment, and proposed that they carry out missions there, with most of the payments going to the people.
  • Konan agreed to the arrangement but urged Uchiha Yan to stay because Danzo would kill him; Uchiha Yan refused, saying he had to go to the battlefield even if it cost him his life.

Ch. 33Obito Attacks

Uchiha Yan left the Land of Rain after entrusting Konan with plans for economic development and lasting peace, while Nagato decided to protect Yan without abandoning his own plans. After Zetsu told Obito that Yan suspected who killed Minato Namikaze, Obito decided to kill him.

  • Uchiha Yan insisted on leaving for the sake of peace and gave Konan a scroll containing plans for the Land of Rain and the Shinobi World.
  • Kakashi handed Pain a letter from Jiraiya and left the captured Uchiha clansmen and Root ninja in the Land of Rain’s care.
  • Nagato read Yan’s canal proposal, told Konan to preserve the scroll, and decided to keep the Root ninja until war broke out between Konoha and Kirigakure.
  • Nagato agreed to have Zetsu secretly watch Uchiha Yan and provide intelligence, while refusing Konan’s proposal to kill Danzo immediately.
  • Zetsu urged Obito to recruit Yan, then revealed that Yan suspected who killed Minato Namikaze.
  • Obito rejected recruiting Yan and ordered Zetsu to tell him where Yan was so he could kill him.

Ch. 34Bluffing

Obito went to kill Uchiha Yan, but Yan bluffed him into believing he understood Obito’s secret mission and wanted to help him. Obito left with Yan’s insights about Madara Uchiha and possible ways to remove his heart’s cursed seal, while Yan remained set on going to the Land of Water.

  • Obito learned Uchiha Yan was heading to the Land of Water battlefield and entered the Kamui Dimension to confront him.
  • Uchiha Yan dodged Obito’s surprise attack, then pretended he knew Obito was alive and on a secret mission for the Fourth Hokage.
  • Yan explained his beliefs about his clan and gave Obito a scroll of Great Fireball Technique insights, along with instructions for a blue scroll Kakashi could find later.
  • Obito offered to keep Yan alive, but Yan refused to abandon his journey to the Land of Water.
  • Obito asked about Madara Uchiha and cursed seals, and Yan suggested seeking the Uzumaki Clan or Orochimaru depending on the seal’s effects.
  • Yan questioned why Madara returned to the village and died without using Izanagi, and Obito pretended that matched his own suspicions.

Ch. 35Sure Enough, the Uchiha Were Evil

Uchiha Yan convinced Obito not to kill him by promising to protect Obito’s secret and find a way to remove his Cursed Seal. At the Land of Water battlefield command post, Yan provoked Danzo and suggested how he could win the Hokage position by replacing clan leaders who opposed him, leaving Danzo intrigued by the plan.

  • Yan reasoned that Madara Uchiha might still be alive but said he needed Senju Clan records to investigate further, then promised Obito he would seek a solution to his Cursed Seal.
  • Obito chose not to kill Yan and ordered him to keep Obito’s existence secret; Zetsu arranged for White Zetsu to watch Yan.
  • Yan reached the command post at Quiet Sea Town after half a month and mocked Danzo while demanding intelligence about Kirigakure’s commanders and influential clans.
  • Yan suggested Danzo could secure the Hokage position by winning over clan seconds-in-command and helping them replace their leaders, prompting Danzo to consider the idea.

Ch. 36The Main Family

Uchiha Yan persuaded Danzo to provide intelligence before leaving on a mission, then confirmed Hizashi’s suspicion that he was trying to unite the clans against Danzo. Hizashi also sought Yan’s help protecting a Hyuga Main Family member on the battlefield, and Yan warned that Kirigakure already knew their identities.

  • Danzo agreed to have Anbu provide Uchiha Yan with intelligence and ordered him to set out the next morning to find the Commander-in-Chief.
  • After the meeting, Suzaku explained to Hizashi and the clan representatives that Yan’s plan could unite the clans against Danzo if Danzo tried to recruit them.
  • Hizashi confronted Yan, who confirmed the plan and said a Mangekyō Sharingan genjutsu had let him live another twenty-seven years.
  • Hizashi asked how to keep someone safe on the battlefield, and Yan advised disguising the Main Family member as a branch family member and switching their identities.
  • Yan warned that Kirigakure might already know every Hyuga Main Family member’s identity, prompting Hizashi to rush out.

Ch. 37Ninja

Uchiha Yan traveled toward the Land of Sea to investigate the suspected alliance between Kirigakure and Kumogakure, while Obito and Zetsu argued over whether to stop him. As he arrived by ship, Yan detected a disguised ninja and escaped into the sea as others prepared to attack.

  • Danzo learned that Uchiha Yan had left Jinghai Town and considered using his list of jonin to prepare against Kirigakure.
  • Uchiha Yan traveled north through the Land of Hot Water and boarded a ship for the Land of Sea, suspecting Genji might be there for alliance talks.
  • White Zetsu reported Yan's destination to Obito, who insisted that Yan must not die, making Zetsu suspicious of his motives.
  • On the ship, Uchiha Yan chatted with a woman whose forehead looked unusually pale and noticed her signal as the vessel neared the island.
  • Uchiha Yan threw an Explosive Tag Kunai at the woman and dove into the sea, while she and two other men moved to pursue him.

Ch. 38Battle

Uchiha Yan fought off Kirigakure pursuers at sea, killed one of them, and was cornered on the Land of Sea after a signal flare alerted the island. He revealed his identity to Shiori and tried to bargain for a meeting with Genji, leaving his fate in her hands.

  • Uchiha Yan identified his pursuers as likely Kirigakure ninja after dodging their Water Release attacks and used an explosive-tagged kunai to kill the female ninja who grabbed him underwater.
  • The young ninja ordered the others to pursue Uchiha Yan toward the Land of Sea and sent up a signal flare to warn the island.
  • Uchiha Yan emerged to face the Kirigakure group, revealed his Sharingan and Konoha forehead protector, and introduced himself as Uchiha Yan.
  • Uchiha Yan told Shiori he had come to find Genji and hinted that he knew Kirigakure was cooperating with Kumogakure and might seek a surviving Uzumaki Clan member.
  • Shiori stopped the young ninja from attacking Uchiha Yan, while Uchiha Yan urged her to take him to Genji and warned that the Uchiha Clan could discover his disappearance.

Ch. 39Let the other side know you have other options

Uchiha Yan offered Genji intelligence and help securing an agreement in exchange for freedom, then proposed that Kirigakure hold peace talks with Konoha to pressure Kumogakure into taking the lead against Konoha. Genji accepted the proposal provisionally and ordered Shiori to watch Yan while the plan was tested.

  • Shiori had Uchiha Yan's chakra sealed and brought him to Genji after he tracked down Kirigakure's negotiations with Kumogakure.
  • Uchiha Yan offered the whereabouts of an Uzumaki Clan orphan, information about the Fourth Mizukage, and help with the talks in exchange for leaving.
  • Yan explained his suspicions about the Fourth Mizukage and the negotiations, then suggested using peace talks with Konoha to make Kumogakure increase its offer.
  • Genji considered Yan's proposal and decided it was worth testing, while warning that Yan would remain under watch.
  • Genji ordered Shiori to accompany Yan and let him do as he pleased in the Land of Sea, except for sending intelligence or leaving.

Ch. 40Telling stories

Obito debated whether to kill or recruit Uchiha Yan, while Yan sought a way to pass intelligence through White Zetsu without exposing what he knew. Yan later told Shiori and the other Genin a story about twin Uchiha sisters, ending with a cryptic correction about how they died.

  • Obito refused to kill Uchiha Yan, hoping Yan could help remove the Cursed Seal, while Black Zetsu urged him to seek Yan’s advice about capturing the One-Tail.
  • Uchiha Yan struggled to devise a way to make intelligence reach Obito, Nagato, and Jinyan without revealing that he knew about White Zetsu, then decided to sleep.
  • The next morning, Uchiha Yan trained by pouring water into a cup and told Shiori that the exercise improved the mind and slowed aging.
  • Uchiha Yan predicted that Kumogakure would make concessions and that Konoha would ultimately win, then offered to tell the Genin Uchiha history.
  • Uchiha Yan described the twin sisters Kayle and Morgana, their opposing beliefs and Mangekyō Sharingan abilities, and their deaths after both targeted the Nine-Tails.
  • When Shiori called their deaths a fight over the Nine-Tails, Uchiha Yan said they had not died fighting over it.

Ch. 41Nagato took the bait

Uchiha Yan captivated his listeners with stories of legendary Uchiha and revealed that two ancient sisters had known a lost technique for letting one Kage Level ninja use Phantom Dragons Nine Consuming Seals. Black Zetsu took the information to Nagato, who sent Pain to question Uchiha Jinyan, but Jinyan guarded the Uchiha secret and corrected Zetsu’s misquoted saying.

  • Uchiha Yan described the abilities and sayings of Kayle, Morgana, and Uchiha Shin, then began telling their stories to an enthralled audience.
  • Black Zetsu found the White Zetsu listening to Uchiha Yan and learned of a secret technique that let one Kage Level ninja use Phantom Dragons Nine Consuming Seals.
  • Black Zetsu investigated the Uchiha records, considered the information plausible, and hurried to tell Nagato.
  • Nagato sent Pain and Black Zetsu to ask Uchiha Jinyan about the secret technique.
  • Uchiha Jinyan refused to reveal Uchiha secrets, and Zetsu asked whether he knew the saying about bringing judgment with a blade.
  • Uchiha Jinyan corrected Zetsu’s wording and warned him not to alter sayings passed down through the Uchiha Clan.

Ch. 42The Third Hokage Was Fooled

Uchiha Jinyan and the Uchiha clansmen learned that Uchiha Yan was in the Land of Sea, but decided to send help instead of sharing the intelligence about Kirigakure and Kumogakure with Konoha. In Konoha, Hozuki Yae falsely claimed Yan had died, prompting the Third Hokage to reveal his regret over sending Yan away; the chapter ended with Utatane Koharu receiving a letter from Fugaku.

  • Zetsu told Pain and the Uchiha clansmen that Uchiha Yan had discussed the two Uchiha sisters while telling stories in the Land of Sea.
  • Uchiha Jinyan and the other Uchiha decided to ask the clan head to send two jonin and ninja cats to rescue Yan, while withholding the wider war intelligence.
  • Hozuki Yae demanded territory and permission to build a bridge from the Third Hokage, then claimed Kirigakure had killed Uchiha Yan after he escaped its main camp.
  • The Third Hokage reacted furiously to Yae's claim and confessed that he had hoped Yan would stay away from danger, blaming himself for Yan's supposed death.
  • Utatane Koharu received a letter from Fugaku after Hozuki Yae left.

Ch. 43Fugaku received intelligence

The Third Hokage stalled Kirigakure’s peace terms while Uchiha Fugaku and Konoha’s leaders learned that Uchiha Yan was alive in the Land of Sea and entangled with Kirigakure. They suspected he had discovered crucial intelligence about the war, but feared that contacting him could get him killed.

  • The Third Hokage told Fugaku that the Hyuga Clan was searching for Yan, postponed warning Danzo, and chose to stall Hozuki Yae’s peace conditions until Kumogakure acted.
  • Hozuki Yae deliberately walked through Konoha so Kumogakure’s spies would notice her.
  • After reading Uchiha Jinyan’s vague message, Fugaku went to headquarters and argued that Yan had likely uncovered something rather than deserted or simply been captured.
  • Inabi reported that Yan was telling stories to a Kirigakure Anbu Jonin and had been taken to meet an unidentified person after nearly dying; Jinyan had received the information from Amegakure.
  • Shikaku suspected Kumogakure and Kirigakure were negotiating in the Land of Sea and urged Konoha to investigate, contact Danzo, and locate Yan.
  • Fugaku warned that sending a ninja cat might expose Yan to Kirigakure’s sensory ninja and cause them to kill him.

Ch. 44Genji's Treachery

Uchiha Yan received intelligence from Konoha through a stray cat and sent back information about Genji’s plans and a future move. Genji then revealed that he had told Konoha Yan was dead, leaving Yan to pretend to be fooled while protecting his position.

  • Fugaku and the Konoha leaders arranged for a stray cat to carry a message to Uchiha Yan after deciding other methods risked detection.
  • Uchiha Yan found the message on Little Calico, sent back intelligence, and added that Genji planned to meet him in three days and that Konoha should move in the Western Sea Area in five days.
  • Genji told Uchiha Yan that Kumogakure had softened its stance on the peace talks and asked him to reveal the location of the surviving Uzumaki.
  • Uchiha Yan refused to share more intelligence until he returned to Konoha and warned Genji to keep the peace talks secret.
  • Genji revealed that he had told Konoha Yan was dead and had framed him as a Konoha traitor, intensifying the conflict between Danzo and the Uchiha.
  • Uchiha Yan realized his message had already reached Konoha and decided to keep deceiving Genji.

Ch. 45Utatane Koharu's change in attitude

Uchiha Yan revealed that he had smuggled intelligence to Konoha through stories, exposing a Kirigakure–Kumogakure alliance and its plan to trap Konoha’s forces. The Third Hokage ordered preparations for the threat, and Utatane Koharu persuaded him to protect Yan by assigning him to gather intelligence with Hizashi.

  • Uchiha Yan told Genji that he had spread intelligence about the Uchiha through stories, but refused to give him information about the Uzumaki survivor or the Fourth Mizukage.
  • The Third Hokage read Uchiha Yan’s intelligence and learned that Kirigakure and Kumogakure planned to join forces and trap Konoha’s returning troops.
  • Utatane Koharu recognized that Hozuki Yae’s supposed peace talks had been Uchiha Yan’s plan to make Kirigakure seize the initiative.
  • The Third Hokage ordered Danzo to launch an all-out attack on Kirigakure and prepared to contact Ōnoki rather than try to break up the alliance.
  • Utatane Koharu argued that Uchiha Yan was too valuable to risk, and the Third Hokage agreed to transfer him to Hizashi’s intelligence-gathering unit.

Ch. 46Fishing

Uchiha Yan used his fishing conversations with Shiori to share stories and hint that he knew Kirigakure's historical problems, then escaped with Jiraiya when the Sannin arrived. On the way out, Yan explained how he deduced that Kirigakure had not yet chosen its commander-in-chief, and reaffirmed his intention to address the conflicts left by the Warring States Era.

  • Uchiha Yan told Shiori stories about the Uchiha Clan, the Second Hokage, Hozuki Gengetsu, and Kagami Uchiha while fishing.
  • Uchiha Yan tossed a toad into the sea, then warned Shiori that Kagami's descendant would make her suffer on the battlefield.
  • Jiraiya appeared on a giant red toad and attacked Shiori and the Kirigakure ninja with Great Flame Bullet as Uchiha Yan plunged into the sea.
  • Uchiha Yan called to Shiori to tell Elder Genji that he would work to resolve the Warring States Era's lingering problems, then left with Jiraiya.
  • Jiraiya asked how Uchiha Yan uncovered Kirigakure's situation, and Yan explained that the unknown commander and delayed attacks suggested Kirigakure had not chosen a commander yet.

Ch. 47Tell me about it

Uchiha Yan explained his plans to reform the Uchiha Clan and discussed Konan, Yahiko, and Nagato with Jiraiya, then escaped Jiraiya’s company and rejoined Konoha’s shinobi. Genma’s squad escorted him toward Konoha as Yan began telling them a story about Uchiha Hikari and Boruto Uzumaki.

  • Uchiha Yan described plans for Uchiha family records, ancestral rites, civilian clothing, and a clan school, while Jiraiya warned that the Uchiha might not be the root of the problem.
  • Uchiha Yan told Jiraiya that Konan, Yahiko, and Nagato were safe, refused to reveal what Minato had left behind, and urged Jiraiya to stay alive.
  • Uchiha Yan tricked Jiraiya into musing about whether he or Minato was stronger, then slipped off Gamabunta and dived underwater.
  • Genji and Shiori prepared to return, leaving ten Chunin squads to secretly gather ships for their plans involving Kumogakure.
  • Uchiha Yan met Genma Shiranui’s squad, learned they could not use Flying Thunder God to take him to Konoha, and started recounting Uchiha Hikari’s story until Genma shouted at him to stop.

Ch. 48Both clever and kind

Uchiha Yan returned to Konoha and insisted on going to Jinghai Town to confront Danzo, despite the Third Hokage and Utatane Koharu fearing for his life. Before departing, he advised Uchiha Itachi on self-cultivation and gave him two sealed scrolls, while preparing for Danzo to send Root ninja after him.

  • Uchiha Yan refused the Third Hokage's offer to excuse him from going to Jinghai Town and said he would risk his life to protect Konoha and influence the Uchiha.
  • Utatane Koharu offered to watch Danzo herself, but the Third Hokage said no one could stop Danzo from targeting Uchiha Yan and arranged for a medical ninja to join Hizashi's squad.
  • The Third Hokage and Utatane Koharu discussed Shisui and Uchiha Yan's willingness to sacrifice himself for peace.
  • Uchiha Yan prepared to leave from Fugaku's house, believing Kirigakure and Kumogakure would join forces against Konoha at a critical moment.
  • Uchiha Yan advised Uchiha Itachi that accumulated righteousness began with changing oneself, then gave him a blue scroll for Senior Xiaren and a red scroll to open only if he saw Uchiha Yan's corpse.
  • Uchiha Yan expected Danzo to send Root ninja to attack him during a mission and resolved to fight them.

Ch. 49Hitting a Nerve

Uchiha Yan confronted Danzo over his suspicion and threats, then used the political fallout of killing him during the war to secure temporary protection. He warned Danzo that the Three-Tails would revive soon, leaving Danzo to assign Hizashi to track it and keep Yan away from headquarters.

  • Danzo accused Uchiha Yan of disobeying orders and demanded to know how he had survived the Kirigakure ninja, while Yan mocked him and accused him of targeting the Uchiha.
  • Danzo attacked Yan with his cane, but Yan blocked with his kunai as Hizashi and the others rushed in to restrain them.
  • Yan explained that killing him would provoke the Uchiha and other clans, and Danzo realized the war made it too dangerous to act against him openly.
  • Danzo promised not to touch Yan during the war, and Yan told him the Three-Tails would revive soon.
  • Danzo ordered Hizashi to investigate the Three-Tails' revival and keep Yan away from headquarters.

Ch. 50The reason

Danzo began preparing a covert plan against Uchiha Yan while Yan joined Hizashi Hyuga and negotiated for the Hyuga Clan’s preserved Senju records. Yan then found Shisui Uchiha, whose Sharingan had advanced, and assigned him a test to humble an arrogant Hyuga clansman.

  • Danzo ordered Black Rat to prepare a plan involving a Kirigakure spy and offered Orochimaru a pair of Sharingan.
  • Hizashi told Uchiha Yan that Haruka Mitokado would join their team and offered him Hyuga support in exchange for protecting a main family member.
  • Uchiha Yan requested the Hyuga Clan’s surviving Senju historical records, and Hizashi agreed to provide what the clan had preserved.
  • Uchiha Yan and Hizashi found Shisui at a saltworks, where Shisui revealed that his Sharingan had advanced to two tomoe after hearing about Yan’s conflict with Danzo.
  • Uchiha Yan told Shisui to train and ordered him to beat the arrogance out of a Hyuga clansman as a test, warning him to leave the other Hyuga alone.
Arc 2 of 13
