• Meridian injury: Rushing Battle Qi onto a weapon can damage the meridians 6.
• Energy exhaustion: Nearly empty reserves leave Hillman weak and aching; after escaping a Saint-level battle, he has only 3% remaining 24 31.
• Breakthrough barriers: Accumulating energy alone is not always sufficient. Hillman’s ninth-level peak breakthrough also requires resonance with Earth Pulsation 24.
• Realm disparity: An Earth Shield supplied with 98% of Hillman’s remaining Battle Qi still shatters under a Saint-level attack while he is half-step Saint-level 30.
