After passing through the passage, they found a small stone chamber before them.
The chamber's four walls were rough and unadorned. Only a waist-high stone pedestal stood in its center. Two objects lay quietly upon it.
One was a blood-colored scimitar, its blade no longer than an arm, curved like a crescent moon, with a dark red sheen flowing over its surface.
Beside it lay a magic staff with a slender shaft and a fist-sized crystal set at its tip, radiating powerful energy fluctuations.
Bebe's eyes went wide.
He jumped off Wangcai's head and dashed to the pedestal in a few quick strides. His little paws first stroked the scimitar's hilt, then poked the magic crystal on the staff as he muttered, "Finally, some decent stuff... This scimitar goes to Taylor. Hasn't that kid been clamoring for a good weapon? The staff goes to Delia, my sister-in-law. Just right."
He put the two divine artifacts into his Space Ring, dusted off his paws, and was thoroughly satisfied.
Wangcai looked around and confirmed that the chamber had no other exits, only the glowing Space Gate straight ahead. He did not hurry Bebe. Only after Bebe had put everything away did he head toward the passage.
The two divine beasts stepped into the Seventh Layer together.
The wind was cool. Unlike the searing heat of the Sixth Layer that scorched their lungs, the wind of the Seventh Layer carried a refreshing coolness. As it brushed their fur, it felt as though they had been washed in cool water.
Lying on Wangcai's head, Bebe took a deep breath and sighed. "Nice! That big idiot's territory was so hot it even made a mouse like me sweat."
Wangcai said nothing. He swept his gaze around. This was a desert world, with boundless yellow sand
