As dawn approached, Kahn and Four Directions quietly landed in a secluded corner of the forest outside the Fire Nation's capital and headed toward the agreed meeting place.
When they reached the meeting place, two familiar figures came into view. They were none other than Azula and Zuko, and it looked as though they had already been waiting for some time.
The three of them had gathered here today to travel to Rah Town together to meet Ershu and ask the Mother of Faces to restore her memories.
"Hey, long time no see. You both got here so early?"
Kahn appeared before them with a greeting.

With a somewhat complicated expression, Zuko said wistfully:
"After all, we've been waiting for this day for a long time."
Ever since his mother disappeared, he had wanted to find her every moment of every day. Even during his exile by Ozai, he had never given up on that thought. Now that this long-cherished wish was finally about to come true, he instead found himself somewhat at a loss.
Azula had already told him the specifics of Ershu's circumstances and the whole story behind what had happened, leaving him a little more hesitant.
"True. At last, we'll have an outcome today."
Kahn was also filled with emotion. In the beginning, they had simply wanted to find Ershu's whereabouts. None of them had expected things to develop to this point. All he could say was that they really had been through far, far too much along the way.
Azula, on the other hand, looked no different from usual. While the two were talking, she walked casually over to Kahn and suddenly patted the spot on his arm where his wound had been, then asked with concern:
