Tang Fangjing looked at the arrogant Xia Zhi and secretly rejoiced. Having known Lu Heng for so many years, she knew what kind of women he despised.
Her Brother Heng would never fall in love with Xia Zhi.
Their divorce was only a matter of time.
Tang Fangjing's thoughts began stirring again.
She was certain Lu Heng had not seen the photos of Xia Zhi being intimate with Fu Ting'an, or he could not possibly have remained so calm with her.
She had to find a way to let Lu Heng see those photos.
Soon, Tang Fangjing's mother called everyone to eat. She had made ordinary home-style dishes, and they looked pretty good.
Seeing that no serving chopsticks or spoons had been set out, Xia Zhi went to the kitchen herself to fetch some and earnestly explained to everyone how to use them.
"...Uncle, Aunt, this is how we eat at home. Grandma is very particular and strict with us."
Tang Fangjing's mother seemed at a loss. "Well... we've never used those at home."
Tang Fangjing looked displeased too. "Xia Xia, are you afraid my family has some disease?"
As she spoke, she turned an appealing gaze toward Lu Heng, waiting for him to criticize Xia Zhi.
Xia Zhi herself was not that particular, but she felt that with the main villain's degree of germophobia, he would have to keep the food separate if he wanted to fill his stomach. Otherwise, he would only take a few bites.
"Tangtang, that's not fair. Does the old madam in our family eat this way because she thinks her sons and grandsons have diseases?"
"Using serving chopsticks is a little more troublesome, but it's the healthiest, most hygienic way to eat."
Tang Fangjing's parents exchanged looks, while Tang Fangjing also looked unconvinced.
Seeing everyone at an impasse, Lu Heng had no choice but to speak up. "Xia Zhi, Uncle and Aunt don't know about these things. Don't make things difficult for them. We're family; there's no need to be so particular."
Tang Fangjing's mother immediately agreed. "Exactly, exactly. We're all family."
Xia Zhi said, "..."
The main villain considers these relatives on his adoptive parents' side family, even though they share no blood ties, yet he seems distant from his biological parents' side.
Looks like the problem doesn't lie solely with his biological parents.
Lu Heng's attitude toward Tang Fangjing's parents was clearly warmer than toward his own biological parents.
Hearing Xia Zhi's thoughts, Lu Heng's expression darkened.
What did she know?
Stupid woman.
Sure enough, apart from taking a few bites at the beginning, Lu Heng did not use his chopsticks again. Instead, Tang Fangjing's father persuaded him to drink several glasses of baijiu.
As the meal neared its end, Xia Zhi suddenly felt a pang in her stomach. She leaned toward Tang Fangjing's ear and said,
"I'd like to use your bathroom."
Tang Fangjing stood up. "I'll take you."
"Okay."
Tang Fangjing took Xia Zhi to the private bathroom in her bedroom, then shut the door and left.
After using the toilet, Xia Zhi found that she could not get out. She did not know whether the door was stuck or locked, so she could only message Lu Heng for help.
Soon, the door was opened from outside.
The man's voice was cold. "Are you an idiot? You can't even open a door?"
Xia Zhi looked aggrieved. "I wasn't the one who closed it."
Tang Green Tea must have done this to me.
Lu Heng said, "..."
She certainly knew how to shift the blame.
Just then, Xia Zhi faintly caught sight of a dark figure approaching. A thought stirred in her mind, and she quickly turned toward the sink to turn on the water and wash her hands.
"Honey, how does this work?"
"I can't turn it on."
Her voice was unbearably coy.
"Help me, please."
Lu Heng studied Xia Zhi suspiciously, thinking, What is this woman up to now?
Still, he walked over and stood behind Xia Zhi. Leaning forward slightly, he turned on the tap with his long fingers, and the water poured out.
Lu Heng was about to call her stupid when Xia Zhi looked at him with admiration. "Honey, you're amazing."
As she tilted her head up, she happened to see a furtive figure not far behind him.
Tang Green Tea must be spying on us.
*??*
Tang Green Tea?
Lu Heng was about to look back when Xia Zhi said coyly again, "Honey, I don't know how to use this hand soap. Teach me, please."
This woman.
Lu Heng had already seen through Xia Zhi's ulterior intentions, but he did not expose her. Instead, he played along and dispensed some hand soap for her.
"Rub it in."
Xia Zhi played the helpless innocent. "Like this?"
The man moved closer, enclosing her in his arms from behind. His large hands covered her small ones, guiding them as he gently rubbed the soap in.
"Wash both your palms and the backs of your hands, like this."
Their large and small hands played in the water.
Originally, Xia Zhi had been teasing the main villain, but without realizing it, she became the one being teased. He even made her blush as his long fingers slowly interlaced with hers, gradually filling the spaces between them.
Xia Zhi's little heart pounded so hard it nearly leaped out of her chest.
Mmm.
The main villain is way too good at this, isn't he?
Who could stand being teased like this?
Seeing Xia Zhi's rare display of feminine bashfulness put Lu Heng in a good mood, and he became even more attentive in teaching her.
Hearing the two laughing and chatting inside, especially Xia Zhi speaking in that coy voice, Tang Fangjing was so furious that she kept inwardly cursing her as a temptress.
Tang Fangjing deliberately made her footsteps heavier, hoping to interrupt the lovebirds playing in the water.
When Xia Zhi saw Tang Fangjing appear, she quickly turned and threw herself into Lu Heng's arms, winding her arms around his neck like vines.
"Honey, give me a kiss."
As she spoke, she puckered her red lips and leaned toward Lu Heng's face.
Lu Heng instinctively leaned back. He still could not get used to such intimacy, but as soon as he retreated a little, he felt resistance. The woman's small hands, cold from the water, were clasped tightly around his neck, preventing him from moving back.
Xia Zhi's beautiful, liquid eyes fixed on Lu Heng with a threatening smile.
You bastard, if you dare humiliate me in front of Tang Green Tea today, I'll find a chance to castrate you tonight if I can't do it during the day!
Her beautiful eyes shifted.
She was breathtakingly lovely.
Lu Heng suddenly felt like laughing.
Xia Zhi tugged hard on Lu Heng's neck, but he did not budge.
It's only a fake kiss using the angle. Can't this bastard cooperate for once?
Gritting her teeth, Xia Zhi rose onto her tiptoes and leaned toward his chin. From Tang Green Tea's angle, they should look as though they were kissing passionately, right?
Suddenly, a large, wet hand settled against the back of Xia Zhi's waist. With only a little effort, the man lifted her whole body into his arms and leaned close to her ear.
"Was Fu Ting'an this close to you back then too?"
His voice was icy.
Xia Zhi denied it. "Of course not."
"The moment he came close, I kicked him away."
Only you're allowed to get this close to me.
You bastard, it's your privilege.
Now hurry up and kneel down to lick your queen's toes!
Thinking of Xia Zhi's plump toes, Lu Heng finally laughed, amused by her.
Xia Zhi was just about to marvel at how handsome the main villain looked when he smiled, but unexpectedly, he bent down and pressed his lips against hers.
*!!*
He's really kissing me?
Doesn't the main villain have germophobia?
He has to wash his hands over and over after a mere touch. If he kisses someone, won't he scrub his mouth raw?
But Xia Zhi soon discovered that the main villain was not really kissing her. He merely rested his lips against hers, with no intention of taking the kiss further.
Still, Xia Zhi was happy, because Tang Green Tea ran off in a fury.
Back at the dining table, Xia Zhi noticed Tang Fangjing's reddened eyes and deliberately asked, "Tangtang, what's wrong?"
Tang Fangjing hurriedly lowered her head. "I'm fine."
Xia Zhi was not someone who quit while she was ahead. "Your eyes look as red as a rabbit's. You haven't caught some kind of pink eye, have you?"
