In the far west, there was a kingdom built high in the mountains.
This mountain range held the tallest stands of trees in the world.
Towering trees easily a hundred meters tall crowded together, blotting out the sky, and the kingdom was built among them.
This kingdom was called the Methos Kingdom.
Its name meant a nation founded by the Lost Ones.
The Lost Ones were what the kingdom's people called themselves. The vast majority were descendants of devils who had fled during the war of the devil invasion and could not return to Hell.
As most of them were rather weak, after escaping the first wave of pursuit by the Divine Clan and the myriad races, some of the lesser devils came to this land of high mountains and towering forests.
The Heavenly Star Calamity had brought immense changes to the world, inflicting devastating casualties on the myriad races and leaving the Divine Clan unable to spare a thought for anything else.
And so, they spent a hundred years here, trembling with fear.
They lived and multiplied here, learned to build and cultivate crops, and eventually settled down.
In the years that followed, when they ventured warily back to the civilized lands of the continent.
They discovered that the Divine Clan, which had once dominated heaven and earth and roamed beyond the Nine Heavens, had actually become the Evil Gods loathed by the people of the Bronze Age.
Yet no one knew the origins of these lesser devils who had once invaded the continent.
The leader of those lesser devils, a surprisingly wise lesser devil, made a decision that would influence generations to come.
That was to become part of this world!
They began interbreeding with the people of the Bronze Age, producing a great many descendants of devils.
