Organization and Leadership

Divine Courts and Refuges

The Seven Divine Courts originally possessed equal standing: each governed its own region, and none was subordinate to another. Their God Kings had exercised supreme regional authority for thousands of years, making proposals for centralized obedience contentious 58.

History

Fifth Epoch Origins

The civilization that became the Divine Clan initially possessed no supernatural power. Its people developed science and were preparing to explore deep space when Doomsday destroyed their civilization. Survivors emerged from shelters, cleared the devastated land, and began restoring life and order 653.

Using their preserved gene bank, they created the Golden Humans in an attempt to revive their race. However, these clones did not retain the form of Fifth Epoch humanity. The survivors subsequently ruled Earth’s land, sky, and oceans as gods 653.

Their scientific education remained an important advantage. When magic arrays were developed, their knowledge of physics, chemistry, modeling, and design made the system easier for them to learn than for the Silver Folk 55.

Faith and Mortal Rule

As Silver Folk city-states grew, worshippers erected divine statues and generated usable power of faith. Its benefits encouraged the gods to support their subjects’ development, but competition for worship also produced God Wars and deaths among former comrades 40.

The Divine Courts increasingly treated mortal politics as part of their religious order. Aulisel opposed stopping every mortal war, arguing that conflict could promote progress and unification so long as the victors continued to believe in the gods. Later, discord among the courts helped unleash wars between their worshipping nations, increasing both suffering and religious devotion 61 72.

The leadership knew faith carried mental contamination but concealed that danger from most members. They accepted its use because rapid increases in strength were needed against the approaching devil invasion, expecting Divine Cores to suppress the consequences until a better solution could be found 175.

Devil Invasion and Collapse

After Jiang Yang defeated Akanoz, the clan prepared for a devil invasion expected in two thousand years. Aulisel presented both organized resistance and concealment within the Seven Great Refuges as possible responses 70.

When the invasion began, the Divine Courts coordinated mortal and divine armies, trading territory for time and concentrating their forces against separated enemy armies. Fourth Step gods deployed Hymn of Glory together, while intelligent Shanhai beasts joined the allied forces 150 152 156.

The war and subsequent asteroid disaster devastated the clan. Its survivors stopped directly rebuilding mortal civilization and allowed mortals to recover independently. They designated the post-disaster period the Mortal Freedom Age, later known as the Bronze Age 174.

The deaths of countless worshippers then turned faith into a source of overwhelming resentment. Wounded gods struggled to contain it, while declining supernatural energy weakened both their healing and their Divine Cores. Corrupted members lost their reason and slaughtered living beings, beginning the Era of Gods Ravaging the Land 175.

Seclusion and Recovery

Li Zhe proposed two treatments: remove and seal the Divine Core, or seal the Spiritual Sea and sleep while the contamination dissipated. Most gods—including powerful God Kings—chose sleep rather than surrender their accumulated strength. Some nevertheless became evil gods 175 205.

Fighting corrupted members further injured the remaining warriors. With researchers unable to control the situation, the Divine Courts concealed themselves and the refuges withdrew underground. Fallen gods occasionally escaped into the Mortal Realm, where the clan could no longer stop them 205.

After returning, Jiang Yang forcibly removed and sealed the afflicted members’ Divine Cores, regardless of their objections. He then established the Mount Tai Divine Court and recruited talented, principled mortal heroes into the Azure Emperor Battle Group 207.

New Humanity and Departure from Earth

Declining fertility and continuing losses left the Divine Clan with only a few hundred members. The clan came to understand that its reproductive difficulties involved not only its elevated life essence but also the succession of epochs 240 241.

Li Xiaowa created three New Human populations through genetic matching. They carried the genes of all living Divine Clan members and were designed to suit Earth’s changing environment. Six named ancestors led their peoples into three separately settled tribes 300 302.

To prepare Earth for its new inhabitants, the clan required powerhouses at Second Step or above to relocate to Mayi. Resistant Bronze powerhouses were killed, and many Divine Beasts were also included in the migration 300 302 312.

Filiya was selected to coordinate the arrangements remaining on Earth and chose Kunlun as her base. The Far North Shelter retained frozen members who could not yet be treated and wished to remain on their homeworld 332 337.

The civilization finally departed for another space-time under Jiang Yang’s leadership. He promised that, if the Sixth Epoch could no longer withstand a future calamity, the Divine Clan would return and fight for Earth to the end 345.

Expansion of the Divine Realm

The clan began conquering other worlds and incorporating them into the Divine Realm. Ferland surrendered under a Great Dao oath binding him to the clan for one hundred thousand years, and his knights became a major expeditionary force 387.

Viren World was conquered and transformed into the Villen Continent. Within a few thousand years, more than one hundred Great Worlds had been fused into the Divine Realm, and over fifty Sixth Step powerhouses had submitted to Jiang Yang 392.

The resulting realm contained thousands of flourishing civilizations. The gods governed from a vast floating city above the clouds, while Jiang Yang occupied the Sky Divine Throne 399.

Expansion was temporarily halted during Jiang Yang’s seclusion to avoid enemies whom the other God Kings could not defeat. Internal development continued through scientific exchange, automation, and the achievements of the realm’s many subject civilizations 463 467.

Later Eras

God Blood lineages became important foundations of Divine Clan rule. Their descendants entered divine service as Nymphs and Servants of the Gods, while improved teleportation restored direct contact with Earth Space-Time and Ming on Pluto 538.

In the later alliance era, the civilization transformed its celestial territory into the Thirty-Three Heavens. This territory became the galactic human alliance’s largest production center for sky cities and hosted three Milky Way Human interstellar legions 813.

Alternate Timeline: Wa Huang’s Leadership

In the alternate history observed through the River of Time, Jiang Yang died during the celestial-star catastrophe. The gods split into six divisions, and five God Kings competed for overall leadership through wars fought by their mortal subjects. Li Xiaowa eventually defeated them using Jiang Yang’s surviving Platinum Divine Sword and the battle awareness preserved within it 757.

She reunited the civilization, oversaw its departure from Earth, and became the renowned Wa Sovereign. Although she reached the pinnacle of Ninth Step, the theft of the Fifth Epoch’s Supreme attainment prevented her from becoming Supreme; she instead attained Quasi-Supreme and supported Sixth Epoch humanity 757.

During the Human Emperor’s crisis, Wa Huang and the gods used the Hymn of the Gods and their Ultimate Formation to awaken Jiang’s true spirit and repel Satan. The battle killed Qing Fengxi and Odin, left a third of the gods dead or wounded, and caused Wa Huang to fall from Quasi-Supreme. This catastrophe was remembered as the Twilight of the Gods 689.

Abilities and Cultivation

Divine Constitution

  • Agelessness and longevity: By the period of the Divine Body research, all members enjoyed eternal youth and life 136.
  • Affinity for laws: Researchers identified an exceptional natural affinity for the power of laws and deliberately strengthened it in the engineered Divine Body 138.
  • Restricted compatibility: The Divine Clan Method requires the clan’s particular constitution. Lorin Stant could not use it without changing bodies 284.
  • Recruitment through transformation: Earth-descended mortals could receive Divine Clan bodies because they shared a bloodline origin with Fifth Epoch humanity 207 284.
  • Rare reproduction: Births such as He Yi’s remained exceptional even after marriages lasting thousands of years 136.

Path of God Cultivation and Path of Magic

  • Path of God Cultivation: The name given to the clan’s original awakening-based cultivation after the introduction of magic 55.
  • Path of Magic: Uses Demonic Element arrays inscribed in the mental sea through levels one to nine, culminating in a Saint Domain 55.
  • Dual cultivation: Many gods practiced both paths to overcome awakening bottlenecks without abandoning their divine status 55.
  • Later public cultivation method: Li Xiaowa combined the strengths of the Divine Realm’s civilizations with Divine Clan cultivation into a method that did not depend on gods as its power source. Its resource and talent requirements limited access 612.

Divine Body Phenomena

  • Origin: Karl, Qing Fengxi, and other researchers developed the Divine Clan Modification and Evolution Plan over approximately one thousand years 136 139.
  • Mechanism: Li Zhe suggested programming the body’s law affinity to generate the form of law release best suited to its bearer 138.
  • Combat application: Phenomena are offensive projections rather than domains that establish control over a small surrounding space 139.
  • Example: Jiang Yang’s Deep-Space Sun allowed him to direct damaging light throughout the area around him 139.
  • Initial limitation: Resources permitted only one hundred people to undergo the first round of modifications 139.

Hymn of Glory

  • Civilization trait: Obtained by the God Kings after reaching Fourth Step 144.
  • Battlefield effect: Summoned additional radiant figures to fight alongside the user; ordinary Fourth Step users manifested varying numbers, while Jiang Yang fielded nine golden figures 152.
  • Reputation: Its starry river and resounding hymns became recognized throughout the Divine Realm as symbols of Divine Clan nobility and authority 399.
  • Historical distinction: The alternate timeline’s Hymn of the Gods was explicitly distinguished from the present-day Hymn of Glory 689.

Faith, Divine Cores, and Holy Spirits

  • Faith enhancement: Worship accelerated cultivation and supported powerful Divine Core enhancements 40 72.
  • Contamination control: Divine Cores absorbed and converted much of faith’s chaotic mental energy, but did not permanently eliminate its danger 72 175.
  • Holy Spirits: Members beyond the Fourth Step breakthrough could, under suitable conditions, arm chosen believers with divine power. One Saint Domain clergyman rose to Second Step through Jiang Yang’s response 145.
  • Failure condition: Mass resentment, severe injuries, and declining supernatural energy caused the Poison of Faith to overwhelm the gods 175.
  • Later attitude: After the catastrophe, gods operating in Mayi retained believers but had lost interest in faith as a source of strength 282.
