Norse Refuge.
Aulisel wore a white lab coat, her long hair falling over her shoulders.
Wearing gold-rimmed glasses, she sat elegantly in an armchair, her slender legs looking all the straighter beneath a sheer layer of black stockings.
Behind her, several Divine Clan researchers, also wearing white lab coats, opened a light screen.
A lifelike moon appeared on the screen, with information about this artificial satellite of the Fourth Epoch continually flashing across it.
"Jiang Yang, when you suggested the other day that the Solar System might not originally have had so many planets, Xiaowa got in touch with me. My previous project happened to be nearly finished, so I focused my research on the Moon, the closest one to us."
"After all, the Moon is also what we know best. We went through a great deal of material from the Morgan Angel Civilization about the Heavenly Lord's construction of the Moon. In the end, we discovered that the construction of this enormous planetary fortress did not seem to have been a coincidence."
"And its purpose was not that of an abandoned planetary fortress, as we had assumed."
"Then what was it?"
"It was a defense line!"
"Huh?"
"The Moon is a defense line for Earth. Although the records the Angels left behind are vague, I roughly deduced that they built the Moon Fortress to deal with a future catastrophe on Earth."
"And they mentioned that this was not the first of its kind. There was a precedent."
"There was a precedent for this planetary fortress?"
Jiang Yang's interest was piqued.
"Yes. I wonder if you still remember those murals we saw when we explored the Devil ruins, the ones describing how the Morgan Civilization discovered the ruins of a civilization that preceded them."
Aulisel spoke in a cool voice.
