After slaying Xuanhuang Dao Lord and the God Lord, Chu Kuangren turned his gaze toward the Deities present. With the Divine Mountain Origin forcibly absorbed by the God Lord, these Deities had barely any Divine Power left and posed no threat.
The only one remaining was Star-Slayer.
Seeing Chu Kuangren look at him, Star-Slayer shuddered involuntarily. Then, unwilling to accept this, he said, "Cang, you've been dead for more than a dozen Epochs. Why did you have to come back?"
"Because the Human Race still needs me."
Chu Kuangren spoke calmly.
"If it weren't for you, I should have been the Human King! I would have led them to live alongside the Deities and usher in a new era."
"Live alongside the Deities? Are you kidding me? The Deities treat humans like pigs and dogs, using them as tools. If you really had led them, the Human Race would probably still be enslaved by the Deities, living in darkness."
"Do you really think humans and Gods are utterly irreconcilable?!"
Star-Slayer spoke coldly.
"At least, we are irreconcilable with these Gods before me!"
Chu Kuangren swept his gaze over the Main Gods.
He offered no judgment on the idea of humans and Gods living together. Perhaps such a thing existed in other civilizations.
But the Deities and humans of Firmament Star could never coexist.
These Gods had inflicted far too much harm on the Human Race.
The other Main Gods fell silent despite themselves.
A thought could not help arising in their minds. If they had treated the Human Race a little more kindly when it first emerged, would things be different now? At least they would not have reached this point of being as incompatible as fire and water.
Unfortunately, there was no undoing any of it.
