Arc 1The Zero-Point Wager

Ken Kaneki joined forces with Kiyotaka Ayanokoji and Rokusuke Koenji to earn points and build a campus trading and lending business as Class D’s allowance came under threat. When Sae Chabashira revealed that the class had lost all its points, Kaneki’s wager with her and his plan to lead Class D toward Class A became central to what came next.

  • Ken Kaneki recognized Kiyotaka Ayanokoji’s hidden strength, befriended Rokusuke Koenji, and joined both boys in Class 1-D, where Sae Chabashira explained the school’s point system.
  • Ken Kaneki led Ayanokoji and Koenji to challenge the Martial Arts Club, and the trio earned three hundred thousand points after Ayanokoji and Koenji won their matches and the club president conceded.
  • Kaneki earned more points through club wagers and defeated Sakayanagi Arisu at chess, while he, Ayanokoji, and Koenji settled into school life and began to notice Class D’s careless spending.
  • Kaneki grew close to Shiina Hiyori through their shared interest in mystery novels, while he, Ayanokoji, and Koenji began planning ways to profit when Class D’s points ran out.
  • Kaneki proposed a secondhand marketplace and Ayanokoji designed a microbank, while Koenji arranged for campus merchants to exchange outside money for school points.
  • Kaneki launched Campus Life, secured Chabashira’s signature on the group’s business agreements, and wagered that he would help lead Class D to Class A if its points remained above zero.
  • Kaneki, Ayanokoji, and Koenji tied for perfect quiz scores, while classmates began noticing the marketplace and microbank as the next monthly allowance approached.
  • Chabashira announced that Class D’s allowance was zero because the class had lost all one thousand initial points through rule violations, and she warned the students that only Class A graduates received the promised benefits.

Arc 2Class D’s Midterm Push

Ken Kaneki built a network of deals and alliances while helping Class D’s struggling students prepare for the midterms. The arc left Sudo studying with Horikita and Ken sharing a moonlit dinner with Hiyori, Chabashira, Ayanokoji, and Koenji.

  • Yukimura blamed Class D’s rule-breakers for the lost points, but Kushida calmed him while Hirata urged the class to cooperate, and Sudo rejected Hirata’s proposal and left with several classmates.
  • Yamauchi and Ike sold belongings and borrowed points from Micro Bank, while Kaneki, Ayanokoji, and Koenji earned money through their resale platform, and Kaneki later confessed to Hiyori, and they became a couple.
  • Horikita learned that Kaneki and Koenji had perfect entrance exam scores while Ayanokoji had deliberately earned 50s, and Chabashira announced that failing midterms could mean expulsion, and Kaneki met her to fulfill their wager.
  • Kaneki tried to persuade Sudo to study, but Horikita’s first study session collapsed after she clashed with Sudo, who feared he could not keep up with schoolwork.
  • Kaneki discovered Kushida’s hostile outburst and attempt to frame him, then made her sign an agreement to help him gather information in exchange for his silence and 50,000 points.
  • Kaneki bought past exam papers and answers from an upperclassman, and Hiyori deduced that the school’s swimming lessons and island poster pointed to a deserted-island survival test.
  • Kaneki and Ayanokoji intervened when Manabu grabbed Suzune, and Ayanokoji overpowered Manabu, and later, Kaneki, Ayanokoji, and Koenji compared the past exam papers they had purchased.
  • Sudo made the basketball team’s official roster, but his place depended on passing every midterm subject, and Kaneki offered help if he joined Horikita’s study group with Ike and Yamauchi, and Sudo agreed.
  • Horikita apologized to Sudo, Ike, and Yamauchi, and they apologized in return, and Sudo began working through basic problems as Horikita patiently tutored him.
  • Kaneki hosted Hiyori, Chabashira, Ayanokoji, and Koenji for dinner, then recited “Prelude to Water Melody” beneath the full moon as Hiyori leaned against him.
