In the end, the trendy guy decided he could not suffer alone and actually pinched the area above his two roommates' upper lips to wake them up too.

By the time he finished, all three had been converted into Qi Gu fans. They looked at him with eyes full of admiration and expectation. "Master Qi, save us!"
