Like a puppy whose owner had reached out to take its paw, Lin Hanzhi could not resist at all. He hurriedly offered Qi Gu his hand, then let Qi Gu lead him into the room without quite understanding what was happening.
He could not tell whether Qi Gu was willing to forgive him now.
Or why he had stopped him from finishing what he had to say. But naturally, Qi Gu had his reasons for not letting him speak.
Lin Hanzhi obediently lowered his head. Though he stood half a head taller than Qi Gu, he was as docile as a puppy on its first day in a new home, so well-behaved that he did not even dare let his gaze wander.
Qi Gu's room had much the same layout as the side room Lin Hanzhi occupied, with only slight differences in the furnishings... For instance, beneath the low table piled with Qi Gu's odds and ends lay a fluffy rug. The pile in one small, circular patch had been flattened, making it obvious that Qi Gu had spent quite some time sitting there earlier.
Sure enough, Qi Gu took off his shoes and plopped down cross-legged on that circular indentation again, then glanced at Lin Hanzhi, who was standing obediently nearby. "Sit down too."
Once they were seated on the rug across the low table, Lin Hanzhi's lips moved. "Can I... finish what I was going to say earlier?"
"No. I have other arrangements for that," Qi Gu said.
Lin Hanzhi froze for two seconds, then another two. His normally clever brain was engulfed by the implications of those words, as though it had sunk into a non-Newtonian fluid.
Did... he mean what I think he meant?
Did Qi Gu mean he had his own plans for our future?
