• Qi Gu returned to Floating Mist Temple, restored its statues, and traveled to Province Y to join Explore the Supernatural, where he warned Sha Chuan that his life was in danger.

• Xu Xue left Sha Chuan's body after telling her parents where to find evidence of his crimes, and Sha Chuan later escaped before dying at the foot of Qingji Mountain.
• Qi Gu uncovered the Golden Toad's curse and the Wish Ghost's influence, then led a small group toward the summit while Song An took the other staff down the mountain.
• Qi Gu spared the Earless Ghost and Stone Ghost, exposed and destroyed the Cave Ghost, and confronted the Golden Buddha that concealed countless Wish Ghosts.

The investigation exposed Bai Yu’s role in splitting Fang Yuanwang’s soul and left the group preparing to reunite its halves while she remained at large.
