Life in the Forest and Meeting Yi Yun

Xiao Wu comes from Star Dou Great Forest, where the Titan Giant Ape, Er Ming, is her close friend. After leaving the forest, she feels lonely despite Tang San treating her well. At Nuoding Academy, she and Tang San are initially ordinary classmates rather than a couple 5 7 8.

Yi Yun discovers her in rabbit form in the forest and watches her transform into a girl. His knowledge of her Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast identity terrifies her: she expects powerful human Soul Masters to hunt her for a Soul Ring or capture her. He reassures her, offers Golden Jade Carrots, and introduces himself. Their playful bickering gradually replaces her fear with trust 4.

Growing Close to Yi Yun

Yi Yun takes Xiao Wu to a secluded valley in Star Dou Great Forest for a picnic. She initially resists returning because familiar Soul Beasts or powerful Soul Masters might expose her identity, but agrees after he demonstrates his strength. His preparations, affection, and attention make her feel unusually relaxed and cared for 7.

When Er Ming approaches, Yi Yun knocks him away but spares his life. Xiao Wu is particularly moved by Yi Yun’s explanation that he has no interest in hunting him for a Soul Ring. Xiao Wu realizes she has fallen for Yi Yun, whose direct admission that he likes her leaves her flustered and unable to sleep. She later asks Tang San what liking someone feels like, inadvertently making her feelings clear to him 11 12.

When Tang San presents a love letter, Xiao Wu tears it up and tells him she sees him only as a friend.
