His concern for Ning Rongrong tempers his ambitions for the sect. Although he believes transferring academies will benefit her future, he tells her he will not force her to leave Shrek. Arrival of the Nine Dragon Tower

Ning Fengzhi is discussing matters with Xue Ye alongside Chen Xin and Gu Rong when the mysterious tower descends into Heaven Dou City. After the two Titled Douluo fail to stop it, he orders everyone to retreat. He subsequently receives an auction token advertising a God-bestowed Soul Ring, but initially suspects that the event might be a conspiracy targeting the city 1 2.

At the inaugural auction, Ning Fengzhi discovers that the tower has completely sealed his Soul Power. He accepts the need to follow its rules and hopes that obtaining the God-bestowed Soul Ring for Rongrong might help her overcome her martial soul’s rank limit 5.

Bidding Against Spirit Hall

Ning Fengzhi brings all the funds the sect can mobilize and enters the contest with a twenty-million-Gold-Soul-Coin bid. He continues challenging Qian Daoliu until the price reaches one hundred million 5 6 7.

After withdrawing from the first auction, Ning Fengzhi explains that his purpose was to drain Spirit Hall’s finances. He stays behind to meet the Tower Master, whose warning against post-auction conflict also protects the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect from retaliation 7 8.

Martial Soul Evolution Agreement

Shen Yan thanks Ning Fengzhi for driving up the price and offers to evolve his Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda. Ning Fengzhi accepts the following conditions 8:

• Ning Rongrong must leave Shrek Academy and transfer to Skywater Academy.
• Ning Fengzhi must look after Shen Yan’s disciple during the disciple’s future stay at Skywater Academy.
• Shen Yan’s disciple will help Ning Rongrong evolve her martial soul.

Shen Yan also invites Ning Fengzhi, Chen Xin, and Gu Rong to assist in creating a Divine Realm, promising them places within it. Ning Fengzhi agrees to the three immediate conditions, but the group’s commitment to the Divine Realm project remains under consideration 8 11.

Ning Rongrong’s Departure from Shrek

Back at the sect, Ning Fengzhi explains the opportunity to Rongrong but withholds the Divine Realm proposal. She hesitates because of her friendships at Shrek, then chooses to pursue martial soul evolution for both herself and the sect. Ning Fengzhi is moved by her decision and permits her to return to Shrek to say goodbye 11 15 16.

After her farewell leaves her withdrawn and unhappy, he postpones her transfer. He also visits the Nine Dragon Tower during Shen Yan’s seclusion, but leaves without meeting him 17 18.

Second Auction

Ning Fengzhi witnesses the storm and golden light accompanying Shen Yan’s awakening of another martial soul. The pressure forces him to circulate his Soul Power to resist; afterward, the announcement of a Random God-Bestowed Martial Soul Origin sends him back to the sect to prepare funds 19 20 21.

He attends the second auction with Chen Xin and Rongrong, warning his daughter that offending the Tower Master could bring destruction upon the sect. Despite bidding 1.5 billion Gold Soul Coins, he is outmatched. He explains that many sect treasures are not on the auction’s accepted-payment list and must first be sold for currency 23 24.
