Life at Nuoding Academy

Xiao Wu entered Nuoding City Junior Soul Master Academy alongside Tang San and Link, living with them as a work-study student for four years. She became known as “Sister Xiao Wu” among the students and regarded Tang San as her older brother. Despite her origins as a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast, her mentality was comparable to an ordinary child’s 1 2.

Tang San managed her money, including the ten-gold-soul-coin monthly stipend she received as a Soul Grandmaster. Although he readily paid for food and drink, he discouraged purchases such as dresses and jewelry. Xiao Wu initially accepted this arrangement as care for her welfare 3.

Joining the Chat Group

Link recruited Xiao Wu by revealing that he knew her Soul Beast identity and offering hope of resurrecting her mother. Despite suspecting a trap, she signed his Parchment Contract with her blood and became the Chat Group’s first member. Her membership gave Link access to her talent and cultivation, immediately raising his Soul Power to level ten 1 2.

After Link left the academy, his criticism made Xiao Wu recognize her lack of financial independence and neglected cultivation. She separated her bed from Tang San’s, but later apologized for taking her frustration out on him. Accepting responsibility for her own progress, she stopped accompanying him to the blacksmith shop and devoted more time to cultivation 3 4 5.

Leaving Tang San

When Link returned to Nuoding City, Xiao Wu had become a Three-Ring Soul Elder. He brought immortal herbs for her and Ning Rongrong, and Xiao Wu’s subsequent breakthrough produced a Ten-Thousand-Year fourth Soul Ring 30 32.

During the confrontation with Tang Hao, Xiao Wu teleported in front of Link and activated Invincible Golden Body to intercept a Clear Sky Hammer attack. After defeating Tang Hao, Link told her that Tang San’s father had discovered her identity when she first arrived at the academy and had left her alive as a future Soul Ring and Soul Bone for his son. Xiao Wu chose to leave with Link rather than return to the Star Dou Great Forest, trusting his protection and the Chat Group’s resources 36 38.

In Suotuo City, she defeated Dai Mubai after he made an indecent proposition concerning Link’s companions. She later accompanied Link, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing to inspect Shrek Academy 41 42.

Resurrecting Her Mother

Xiao Wu recognized Bibi Dong as her mother’s killer but initially hid behind Zhu Zhuqing and Ah Yin, knowing she could not overcome Bibi Dong’s defenses. When Link called her forward, she openly demanded her mother’s return 68.

Link negotiated an exchange instead of allowing a fight. Xiao Wu surrendered an Adaptive Soul Ring, while Bibi Dong removed the Soul Ring and Soul Bone obtained from her mother. Liu Erlong then used her Azure Dragon Spirit’s life power to merge those remains and resurrect Xiao Wu’s mother as a living Soft Bone Rabbit 69 70.

Her mother subsequently warned her not to trust humans lightly and to put herself first. Xiao Wu accepted the advice but privately considered Link an exception because he showed no interest in claiming her Soul Ring or Soul Bone. After entering the Star Dou Great Forest, her mother left to explore alone and encouraged Xiao Wu to continue traveling with her friends 71.

Later Travels

Xiao Wu participated in individual and team soul fighting at the Haagen-Dazs Great Soul Arena under Dugu Yan’s guidance. In the Star Dou Great Forest, she helped reassure her companions after meeting Er Ming and identified the approaching Dark Demon Evil God Tiger as an enemy of Soul Beasts 71 72.

After saving her mother, she changed her Chat Group display name from “Little Bunny Who Must Save Mom” to “Xiao Wu.” At the Clear Sky Sect’s emergence ceremony, she reunited with Zi Ji, whom she addressed as her aunt, and encouraged her to accept Link’s invitation into the Chat Group 76 87.

Xiao Wu is outgoing, mischievous, and proud of her strength. At Nuoding Academy, she enjoys being addressed as “Sister Xiao Wu” and threatens Link with a beating when he refuses to defer to her. Her talkative nature also carries into the Chat Group, where she eagerly welcomes newcomers and trades barbs with Link 1 11.

She can be impulsive, but she is capable of admitting fault. After briefly blaming Tang San for her lack of progress, she acknowledges that she neglected her own cultivation and apologizes. Her determination to resurrect her mother becomes a strong incentive to train 4 5.

Her trust in Link does not erase her concern for others. Even after leaving Tang San, she asks whether Link will spare him if they clash again. She also remains protective of Soul Beasts, opposing the unrestricted spread of Innate Formless Sword Qi because increasing the number of Soul Masters would intensify demand for Soul Rings 40 85.
