Cat Demon Kanou
"C-Cat Sith?"
Seele stared blankly at Kujou Oto before her. Although she could see ghosts and such, she was otherwise no different from an ordinary person—she was even less capable than Asou Yuna. Why were there both a Zashiki-warashi and a Cat Sith around her?
Could this... be what they called a protagonist?
"Let's go! We'll find Grandpa River God first."
Seeing Seele's dazed expression, Kujou Oto smiled faintly, then took Seele and Kazuko by the hand and led them out of the room.
After putting their shoes back on, the three of them headed straight down the narrow path behind the house.
Beyond the path stood a scattering of sparse trees, followed by a pebble-covered trail only about a meter wide... barely wide enough for a person to walk through.
After they passed through the path, a small river appeared before them—a river in the truest sense of the word. It was probably less than four meters wide, and the water was so clear that they could see the bottom... it looked no deeper than knee-high.
The River God of such a small river?
It seemed this River God could only be one of the lowest-ranking deities. Only in this country could anything become a god—even a stone or an ordinary object.
Come to think of it, although he was merely the god of a small river, he was already far better off than those who had nothing at all.
Take the Yato God Seele knew, for example. He was even more pitiful.
He had no shrine and no territory. Forget a river—he did not even have a square meter of land. Once people forgot him, he would say goodbye to this world!
The gods of this world... especially the low-ranking ones, suddenly seemed rather pitiful.
