Background / History

Dragon Race Origins

Di Tian was born during the dragon race’s era of rule and personally received guidance from the Dragon God. The Dragon God also left him the Dragon God Claw, a secret technique retaining part of the Dragon God’s origin 52 53.

He subdued the Star Dou Great Forest’s core region single-handedly and became the foremost of the Ten Great Ferocious Beasts. While Gu Yuena slept beneath the Lake of Life, he governed the forest on her behalf 22 52.

Battle with the Evil Emperor

During Gu Yuena’s slumber, the Evil Emperor pursued the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm into the Star Dou Great Forest. After the intruder overcame other powerful Soul Beasts, Di Tian intercepted him at the Lake of Life 22 23.

Di Tian blocked the Evil Emperor’s spiritual attacks, transformed into his dragon form, and shattered Spiritual Illusion with the Dragon God Claw. The Evil Emperor retaliated with the Light of Time and Space, but Di Tian overcame it in a direct clash. The attack dulled patches of his scales, while the Evil Emperor lost more than half his tentacles and ultimately withdrew from the forest 24 25.

Heavenly Dao Ranking

When the Heavenly Dao Ranking appeared, Di Tian watched from the Lake of Life with the other Ferocious Beasts. Following Gu Yuena’s awakening, he continued searching for Ning Xian under her orders, though he initially found no trace of him 2 3 8.

The rewards granted to other Soul Beasts sharpened his desire for godhood. Snow Empress’s divine position offered an alternative to the million-year breakthrough he feared he might not survive. The Deep Sea Demonic Whale King’s subsequent ascension forced Di Tian to acknowledge an opponent he could no longer confidently handle alone 32 38.

The ranking eventually named Di Tian third and showed him overpowering Xiong Jun and several other Ferocious Beasts. Gu Yuena explained that his inability to cross into godhood was not a lack of strength: the Divine Realm prevented Soul Beasts from condensing their own divine positions 51 52.

After receiving his three rewards, Di Tian withdrew into the ninth layer of his divine domain to familiarize himself with his new power. By the announcement of second place, he had mastered the Dragon God Heavenly Claw. He accepted Gu Yuena’s higher ranking and later recognized that his enhanced abilities were insignificant before Ning Xian’s power 53 60 66.

Appearance

Di Tian takes a black-robed humanoid form and a colossal black dragon form distinguished by golden eyes and dark-gold markings 2 51 52.

• Humanoid form: Long hair, golden eyes, and dark-gold patterns extending from his neck to the backs of his hands 21 52.
• Dragon form: Overlapping black scales, enormous wings, and golden or dark-gold divine patterns; his ranking presentation depicts a body stretching over a thousand zhang 24 51.
• After bloodline evolution: Backward-extending horns, a black mane running down his spine, dark-gold wing edges, and a fully opened golden eye on his forehead 52.
• After absorbing the ninth tribulation: Purple lightning shines within his golden eyes, and a dark-gold dragon marking appears between his brows in human form 52.
• Dragon God Heavenly Claw: A dark-gold claw bearing fine nine-colored divine markings; these markings recede beneath his flesh when the technique is withdrawn 53.

Personality

Di Tian is restrained and deferential toward Gu Yuena. Although curious about her attachment to Ning Xian, he considers her private affairs beyond his place to question. He also stops Xiong Jun from pressing the subject when her memories of Ning Xian surface 8 30.

His pursuit of godhood is both personal and collective. He wants freedom from the constant threat of heavenly tribulations, but also hopes Soul Beasts can regain the right to stand at the continent’s pinnacle. Seeing other Soul Beasts advance more easily can frustrate him, yet he remains willing to wait and sacrifice for that goal 32 36.

He is confident without ignoring unfavorable odds. He refuses to equate greater cultivation age with superior strength, but openly admits the danger of the Sky-Devouring Demon God’s domain and accepts Gu Yuena’s superiority 34 38 60.

Dragon Emperor Bloodline and Physique

Di Tian’s pureblood dragon lineage supports exceptional physical strength and suppresses lower-ranking bloodlines 51 52.

• His presence forces dragon-blooded Soul Beasts and dragon-type martial souls to bow; serpent-type martial souls are also affected 51.
• Before his rewards, combining ultimate darkness, space, and the Dragon God Claw allowed him to slay an ordinary Demigod and overwhelmingly defeat a Level 99 Peerless Douluo without a divine position 52.
