That fact was like a sharp blade plunged straight into her chest. Crimson blood and scarlet fury flowed from the wound, dyeing every part of the world they could reach the same color. The deliberately concealed truth made her anger surge like raging waves.

Sakura stood frozen in place like a wooden doll. At some point, the terminal in her left hand had been snapped in two by her immense strength, faint blue sparks flickering from it now and then.

Impulse urged her to act at once, but reality built only a bridge of reason. She could not let her sister become the price of her rage.

In the end, Sakura let out a long sigh. The shattered terminal slipped from her hand as she held her forehead, closed her eyes, and tried to drive the anger from her heart.

Lowering her hand, she opened her eyes. Wherever her pale violet gaze fell, there was not a ripple of emotion.

Stepping onto the soft, gold-trimmed carpet, Sakura saw the elderly butler waiting for her at the far end of the carpet, at the end of the long corridor.

The butler placed his left hand over his chest and bowed. "Good day, Miss Sakura."

Humbly, he said, "My mistress is waiting for you upstairs."

"Thank you."

The crisp sound of footsteps descended from the marble staircase and echoed through the vast, empty hall. As a singer, Eden's home was strangely quiet, yet it did not feel cold or desolate.

Opening the door, Sakura found Eden seated at her vanity in thick white pajamas, combing her soft long hair. Sakura's reflection appeared in one corner of the mirror.
