As the saying went, great matters called for small meetings, while small matters called for great meetings. In the Councilor's office in the Federal Parliament Building, Qian Gu Fenfeng, Qiangu Dongfeng, Yue Zhengen, and Yi Hongchen were playing Chinese chess.
"Check!"
"Oh, Councilor, what a divine move! I can't hold a candle to you!"
With that, Qiangu Dongfeng and Yi Hongchen both set down the chess pieces in their hands.
"Hahaha, Zhengen, don't flatter me."
"Hahahaha, Councilor, I just love speaking the truth. This game could only have played out so perfectly thanks to your farsighted planning, looking two moves ahead with every move you made!"
"Just like the Federation, flourishing under your leadership!"
"Hahahaha, Zhengen, your way with words has improved, but don't slack off in your work either."
"Yes, yes, Councilor, you're right to reprimand me. This head of mine-I'm getting old, and it doesn't work so well anymore!"
"So please look after the Angel Clan in the future!"
"Hahaha, all right, Zhengen. I've called everyone here today to discuss an important matter."
"Please go ahead, Councilor!" Seeing Yue Zhengen being so "shameless," Yi Hongchen's heart tightened, and he hurriedly spoke.
Qian Gu Fenfeng's expression turned serious. "Unusual activity has now been reported in the Star Dou Great Forest. I plan to seize this moment and catch the entire Soul Beast Clan in one net."
"Well..."
"The Spirit Pagoda has completed its preparations for war."
"Good! We swear to follow you to the death, Councilor!"
The Star Dou Continent.
Before the smoke of battle had fully cleared, the Federation's soul-powered fleet slowly descended over the devastated ruins.
Massive soul-powered transport aircraft roared across the scorched earth as squads of fully armed Federation Soul Police stepped over the broken bodies strewn everywhere and entered this land that had just suffered a catastrophe.
Their former homes had been reduced to ruins. After the Fixed Soul Cannons had scoured the land and the Holy Spirit Cult had carried out its slaughter, the surviving natives were still clinging to life amid the rubble. But what awaited them was not salvation, but cold, iron-fisted rule.
Under the pretext of "maintaining order," the Federation Soul Police marked out vast areas across the Star Dou Continent and built concentration camps surrounded by barbed wire.
Soul Tool Turrets were mounted atop towering alloy walls, and cold searchlights swept the camps day and night. The surviving natives were forcibly herded into the concentration camps, young and old alike stripped of their freedom.
Cries of resistance were quickly suppressed. At the slightest sign of defiance, the Soul Police used soul-powered weapons to crush it. Inside the concentration camps, the slaughter never stopped.
Large numbers of natives died under Soul Cannon fire and Soul Skills, their remains carelessly dumped outside the camps. The stench of blood mingled with the lingering smoke of battle and spread across the barren land. The people who had once lived and worked in peace had become the Federation's prisoners, and countless families were torn apart in this brutal crackdown.
Meanwhile, the Federation's mining teams poured into the Star Dou Continent in force. This continent held abundant mineral deposits, rare soul-tool ores, and all kinds of precious natural resources.
Giant soul-powered excavators roared, recklessly gouging through mountains and tearing open the earth's rocky layers. Once-lush woodlands were leveled in swathes, river valleys were riddled with excavation wounds, and the land was plundered in a frenzy.
The mining teams disregarded the local ecology and the foundations of the natives' survival alike. Vast quantities of mineral resources were loaded onto soul-powered transport ships and shipped back to the Federation's homeland in an endless stream.
The concentration camps' barbed wire cut off the outside world, while deep pits and ruins left by mining scarred the wilderness everywhere.
Federation Soul Police were stationed at every stronghold, keeping the entire continent under tight control. After the flames of war, the once-vibrant Star Dou Continent had become a place for the Federation to plunder resources. Suffering shrouded the surviving living beings, while oppression and despair weighed heavily upon this land that had endured so many hardships.
"Spirit Pagoda Guard Squad One, ready!"
"Spirit Pagoda Guard Squad Two, ready!"
"Spirit Pagoda..."
"Lads, let us follow the Benevolent Father and pass judgment on the heretical Soul Beasts!"
"Follow the Benevolent Father!"
"Follow the Benevolent Father!"
