"You can all come at me together!"
When Xia Zuo said those words, the training ground fell silent. Every mage glared fiercely at him. After the silence, a wave of voices erupted in an instant!
"Kid, you're too arrogant! You actually dare to challenge so many of us!"
"Exactly! I've never seen anyone as arrogant as you, challenging all of us alone. You're infuriating!"
"Brat, I'm going to teach you a lesson!"
The mages behind the Ancient One clamored one after another, showing none of their usual composure. Xia Zuo was far too arrogant, daring to speak like that and challenge everyone alone. Those words were infuriating. Wasn't he looking down on them? No matter how patient they were, they could hardly stomach hearing that.
On the other hand, after Xia Zuo had issued such a brazen challenge, what would they be if they still shied away? Turtles hiding in their shells? He was forcing them to fight!
"If you don't dare, get lost. Don't just stand there shouting."
Xia Zuo waved impatiently without even looking at them, as though shooing away flies, instantly stoking everyone's anger!
"Sorcerer Supreme, I can't stand this. Please allow me to teach that kid a lesson!"
"Sorcerer Supreme, I'm furious too. Please allow me to fight!"
Every mage the Ancient One had selected to fight Xia Zuo asked for her permission. They could no longer stand it and wanted to teach Xia Zuo a lesson.
"You really are... quite imposing."
The Ancient One looked at Xia Zuo, unsure whether to laugh or cry. In just a couple of remarks, he had stirred everyone to anger. How had she never known he had this ability?
But the Ancient One knew Xia Zuo very well. Given his mature mindset, he would never do something he was not confident about. She gave a slight nod and agreed to it. After all, she also wanted to see just how far Xia Zuo could go.
"I approve this fight. Don't take it too far." The Ancient One nodded slightly, agreeing to the fight.
At once, all the mages jumped into the circular fighting area in the center of the training ground.
"Kid, I promise I won't beat you to death, but I'll make you understand that mages aren't people you can look down on so casually."
"Challenging all of us-I've truly never seen anyone as arrogant as you. But you'll get your wish!"
"You asked for this!"
"Don't worry, we'll hold back. At most, you'll be bedridden for a few days!"
Once all the selected mages stood before Xia Zuo, each of them looked at him mockingly.
In fact, mages generally handled things calmly. Their profession demanded it; an agitated mind could not wield magic well. Under normal circumstances, they would not get too angry. But Xia Zuo's earlier words had been so infuriating that they wanted nothing more than to give him a sound beating to vent their anger.
On the other hand, they were not Kaecilius. After all, Kaecilius had been alone, so it was possible for Xia Zuo to defeat him. Now, however, there were ten of them-ten mages fighting Xia Zuo together. They refused to believe they could still lose under these circumstances. That was impossible, so they were all very confident, believing they were simply here to thrash Xia Zuo.
"Mm, I'll hold back too!"
Xia Zuo spoke mildly, as though he could easily deal with them if he did not hold back. Anger appeared on every mage's face once again. Xia Zuo had stoked their fury yet again.
"What an obnoxious brat!"
All the mages snorted coldly and began activating their Sling Rings, gathering magic. They were going to teach Xia Zuo a lesson.
"Magic: Shield!"
"Magic: Sword!"
"Magic: Whip!"
Those standing at the front instantly formed magic shields to guard against a surprise attack from Xia Zuo, while those behind them used their magic to form weapons for attacking.
They trained together, so naturally, they had some coordination and knew how to work together. This would make things considerably harder for Xia Zuo, but he paid it no mind. This was exactly the effect he wanted.
Xia Zuo was pushing himself. He wanted to see what level his magical power could reach.
At that moment, Xia Zuo focused all his attention. The five-pointed stars in his eyes worked continuously, analyzing all the magic before him. The structure, form, properties, and power of every spell kept appearing in his eyes.
Before any of the mages had time to attack, their magic already held no secrets. Everything was laid bare before Xia Zuo's eyes.
"Magic: Shield!"
"Magic: Sword!"
In an instant, Xia Zuo moved both hands at once, forming two spells simultaneously. With a shield in his left hand and a sword in his right, he looked solemn in a distinctive way, framed by the glowing sword and shield!
"This is... I never expected Xia Zuo to be able to form two spells at once!"
At that moment, even the Ancient One was somewhat surprised, because even she had not expected Xia Zuo to be able to form two spells simultaneously.
Forming two spells at once was no simple task, because it involved quite a few abilities. Not only did one need to know both spells so well that they could cast them effortlessly, but one also needed powerful mental strength and exceptional magical talent!
In short, this was simply not something a novice mage could accomplish. Even some mages who had practiced for a very long time struggled to do it. Yet Xia Zuo could do it now, which was why the Ancient One was so shocked.
But this was nothing difficult for Xia Zuo. After all, with his Copy Eyes, he had already mastered these two spells the moment he saw them, so this was no challenge to him at all.
But Xia Zuo had no time to think too much now, because he still had a battle to face. Holding a shield in his left hand and wielding a sword in his right, Xia Zuo charged straight at the mages!
