Flashes of fire kept erupting across Kamar-Taj's training grounds. The sorcerers condensed magic in their hands and fought relentlessly, yet their opponent was merely a child who looked about ten years old.
In truth, Xia Zuo had grown quickly. Although he was only seven, he had eaten well over the past year and received plenty of every kind of nutrition. Combined with the constant nourishment of magical energy, this made him look about ten now.
Still, the current situation was hardly favorable for Xia Zuo. To be honest, fighting the sorcerers had given him an increasingly clear understanding of his own level of magic.
In terms of magical attainment alone, few sorcerers in Kamar-Taj could surpass Xia Zuo anymore. After all, when it came to using magic, he had the outrageously powerful ability of the Copy Eyes, which allowed him to learn and thoroughly master any spell in a short time. Moreover, Xia Zuo seemed to have far more magical energy than ordinary people, which was probably also an effect of the Copy Eyes.
However, he also had a weakness: his stamina. His age was an issue. After all, he was still young, and there was a certain gap between him and these adult sorcerers, leaving him at a slight disadvantage in stamina. Yet he had discovered that he recovered extremely quickly and was almost never tired. This allowed Xia Zuo to fight continuously, something the other sorcerers could not match.
So Xia Zuo's best way of fighting now was not to get tangled up with these sorcerers, but to overwhelm them directly with magic.
With that thought, Xia Zuo leaped straight out of the sorcerers' encirclement. The magic shield over his left hand vanished instantly. A moment later, a magic rune condensed over his left hand once again, and sword magic appeared in an instant. A magic sword that resembled a pattern of light materialized in Xia Zuo's hand.
"Kid, a sorcerer without a shield can get hurt very easily!"
A heavily bearded sorcerer shouted at Xia Zuo, holding a shield himself. He was a member of the sorcerer team responsible for defense. When he saw Xia Zuo abandon his shield, he felt they were close to victory, because without a shield, Xia Zuo could not block their attacks.
"Not necessarily. After all, as long as you can't hit me, nothing will happen. Besides, you won't have that chance anymore."
Xia Zuo chuckled and instantly hurled the magic sword in his right hand at the group. The moment it left his hand, the magic sword shot like a cannonball and slammed into the bearded sorcerer's magic shield!
An immensely powerful explosion erupted instantly. The bearded sorcerer's magic shield shattered at once, and the tremendous force knocked his huge body over and blasted him straight out of the grounds. The bearded sorcerer was out!
"Just as I expected."
Xia Zuo chuckled. Acting on a sudden inspiration, he had slightly altered the magic runes on the magic sword, destabilizing its magical energy. He had not expected it to explode after he threw it, much less unleash such terrifying power that it knocked the bearded sorcerer over. That part had caught Xia Zuo by surprise.
However, Xia Zuo alone could use this ability. After all, few people could precisely control a magic sword's stability. If anyone else altered the magic runes, the sword might explode the very moment they made the change!
The sight briefly stunned the other sorcerers, as none of them had expected such an outcome. After that moment of surprise, however, they all gathered their wits and focused on the battle. They did not believe he could use a move like that many times. Before long, Xia Zuo would exhaust himself and lose.
"Xia Zuo, there's no way you can keep using a move like that, so you're definitely going to lose!"
That was inevitable. Forming each spell required a considerable amount of magical energy, so squandering it as freely as Xia Zuo did was certainly not a wise choice. But that only applied to ordinary people.
As Xia Zuo had just said, his stamina was lacking, but his magical energy was abundant, so he did not need to worry about running out. This seemed to be some special effect brought about by the Copy Eyes. Xia Zuo had yet to fully figure it out, but he certainly had far more magical energy than other people. This, too, was an advantage of his, though the others did not know it.
"Then give it a try!"
Xia Zuo chuckled and repeated his earlier action. The magic sword over his right hand instantly shot out and slammed into another sorcerer holding a magic shield.
The outcome held no surprises. The magic shield in the shield-bearing sorcerer's hand shattered instantly, and the sorcerer was blasted hard out of the combat area as well.
What followed was even simpler. Xia Zuo did not get tangled up with the sorcerers at all, simply bombarding them from a distance. At this point, he was like a walking little cannon, taking down whoever he blasted. Every time the magic sword in Xia Zuo's hand shot out, another sorcerer was eliminated.
Of course, with the Ancient One watching from the sidelines, Xia Zuo could not possibly blast them to death, but injuries were inevitable.
"What the hell? Why can he still keep forming spells?"
"How could anyone have this much magical energy?"
The sorcerers who had originally declared that they would teach Xia Zuo a lesson now looked increasingly embarrassed. Xia Zuo was chasing them around, and the rhythm of the fight was entirely in his hands. They seemed to have no power to resist at all, and the battle was becoming completely one-sided.
A little later, the battle reached its end. As Xia Zuo blasted the last sorcerer out of the combat area, the fight slowly drew to a close. Xia Zuo had won an overwhelming victory without any suspense!
