John Garrett was a cold-looking man who appeared to be in his twenties. He was an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., and his clearance was far from low, but he had a secret: his other identity was an undercover Hydra operative!
Several years earlier, he had been injured during a mission in Sarajevo, but S.H.I.E.L.D. had never launched a rescue. Furious, he had resolved to take revenge on S.H.I.E.L.D. and joined Hydra.
To gain power, he had joined Hydra's death warrior modification program and successfully survived. He had now undergone earth-shattering changes. Although his physical strength was not as formidable as the legendary Captain America's, he had become very strong. However, his modifications were not truly complete, so, to undergo further modifications, he had decided to agree to retrieve a Scroll of Truth for that person.
His identities in both the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division and Hydra gave him an enormous advantage in this investigation. After all, he could draw on intelligence from both S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra. Combining their intelligence, he soon found a clue: a figure who should not have been involved had appeared in this affair.
A child from an orphanage!
Although he did not know what this child had to do with the matter, he decided to investigate the orphanage. The moment he arrived, he heard a voice calling him inside.
"So this really is the place. Looks like I'll be able to finish this mission soon!" John Garrett's eyes lit up. He pushed the door open and slowly walked inside.
As for the possibility of an ambush, he was now a modified super soldier. Although he fell far short of Captain America, he was not someone a child could match, either. Without the slightest worry, he stepped straight through the doorway.
The moment John Garrett entered the room, he saw a pair of glowing red eyes. In the center of those eyes, an inverted V-shaped symbol like an eagle spreading its wings shone brightly!
In an instant, John Garrett froze, and a red ring appeared in his eyes!

"Done!"
A faint smile touched Xia Zuo's lips. The Geass Eye might be his only ability at present, but used well, this ability was invincible.
Xia Zuo could not fight the people Hydra sent head-on. After all, his body was not strong, so he could only rely on his Geass ability to ensure his safety.
"Answer my questions first. Once the questioning is over, go kill the person who sent you, until you die."
Xia Zuo spoke slowly. This was the order he gave John Garrett.
"Yes, sir. Please ask!"
John Garrett spoke blankly and immediately bowed in a standard gesture of military etiquette.
"First, tell me about your background and why you came!" Xia Zuo asked. This was always his first question.
"My name is John Garrett. Publicly, I am an agent of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division. Secretly, I am a Hydra spy. This time, I came under Whitehall's orders to retrieve the Scroll of Truth." The cold-looking man answered Xia Zuo's questions honestly.
"John Garrett, so it's actually you? And Whitehall is involved, too. Looks like I've hooked a big fish. That Scroll of Truth really is no ordinary thing!"
Xia Zuo's eyes lit up as he immediately recalled John Garrett's identity. If he remembered correctly, John Garrett was the Clairvoyant, a villain in the American TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the mastermind behind the creation of the Centipede Serum. He had not expected the person Hydra sent this time to be him.
But on further thought, Garrett was currently in his twenties and had only recently joined Hydra. His position within Hydra was not yet very high, so the likelihood of his being sent on this mission was far from low.
Whitehall, who had sent Garrett, held an even higher position. He had been one of Red Skull's followers back then and had spent his life obsessively researching the Obelisk-the secret of the Inhumans. Later, he had even become one of Hydra's heads, making him a major figure within Hydra. Xia Zuo had not expected this affair to have ties to him.
But looking at it another way, if even Whitehall wanted this Scroll of Truth, it was certainly no ordinary thing. It might even have some connection to the Inhumans.
Xia Zuo began making calculations. Perhaps he could gain something from this.
Over the time that followed, Xia Zuo continued questioning John Garrett, asking about every detail of the affair. He even asked whether anyone had accompanied John Garrett on this mission, how he had learned of Xia Zuo's existence, and the secrets of the Scroll of Truth. Xia Zuo questioned him thoroughly about all of these things, and John Garrett answered each of his questions.
There was no helping it. This was the power of the Geass Eye. John Garrett could not resist Xia Zuo's orders at all!
After this series of questions, Xia Zuo now understood the affair inside out, starting with how John Garrett had learned of his existence.
According to John Garrett's answers, he had developed suspicions by combining intelligence from S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra, but he had not been certain. He had come this time to verify his suspicions, and he had come alone to investigate.
That was only natural. After all, John Garrett was a double agent, and he did not want S.H.I.E.L.D. to discover his true identity. His visit had therefore been extremely secretive, and no one had discovered it.
This put Xia Zuo at ease. After all, he did not want his existence exposed to Hydra or S.H.I.E.L.D., either. That would be very unfavorable for him.
Leaving S.H.I.E.L.D. aside, Whitehall alone filled Xia Zuo with apprehension. That pervert Whitehall had vivisected Jiaying, Quake's mother, for his research. He was an utter pervert. Xia Zuo did not want to be targeted by him. That would be too disgusting.
"In other words, no one knows about my existence except John Garrett, and John Garrett is under my control. Perfect."
Xia Zuo chuckled. His worries had been unnecessary. The only pity was that John Garrett did not know what the Scroll of Truth did, either.
With that thought, Xia Zuo finished questioning John Garrett and gave him an order. "Go. Complete your final task."
"Yes. Once the questioning is over, kill the person who sent me, until I die." Muttering blankly, John Garrett left the orphanage and headed straight for Hydra's base.
As for the person who had sent him, it was one of Hydra's heads, Whitehall!
