"What are you looking for?"
As Xueheng stared at the densely packed ants on the ground, his scalp prickling, he turned to see Xue Fuyao searching intently for something below.
"I'm looking for the ant queen. Red-Eyed Army Ants don't have a fixed nest. When the entire army marches out like this, the queen will most likely be there too. Without their queen, these Red-Eyed Army Ants will be nothing but a heap of loose sand."
Besides, she had taken a liking to the Red-Eyed Army Ants' fighting prowess. If she could cultivate the queen into a Gu Worm, she might be able to have an ant army like this herself someday.
With that thought, Xue Fuyao continued searching for the queen among the countless ants.
As the ruler of a colony, the queen was bound to be in its safest spot.
A golden gleam flashed through her eyes, and soon, she found one distinctly different ant among the densely packed swarm.
This ant was much smaller than the surrounding Red-Eyed Army Ants, only about the size of a fist, but its abdomen was enormous, taking up almost two-thirds of its body. There was another, more important reason Xue Fuyao was certain it was the queen: this Red-Eyed Army Ant was being carried on the back of another, much larger Red-Eyed Army Ant.
That should be a male ant.
What made Red-Eyed Army Ants terrifying was their sheer number. Xue Fuyao slipped silently up to the queen and, before it or its husbands could react, stuffed them all into a Storage Bag. Then, before their formic acid could dissolve the Storage Bag, she tossed them, bag and all, into the Silver-Thread Gu Bracelet.
Having lost their queen, the Red-Eyed Army Ants immediately fell into chaos like headless flies.
Seeing this,
