A fiery-red figure shot into the sky in an instant.
Xue Fuyao felt the temperature around her drop instantly. Only then did she look up at the fiery-red figure in the sky.
"A Vermilion Bird?"
Now she understood how those rumors about a Vermilion Bird had come about.
High in the sky, a Monster Beast that resembled a Phoenix, its entire body wreathed in flames, beat its wings as it hovered in midair, crying out in defiance. From a distance, it looked exactly like the legendary Vermilion Bird.
But Xue Fuyao was close enough to see it clearly. This was no Vermilion Bird at all. Its entire body was made of flames, and it could not even be considered a living creature.
There were two other figures on the enormous flaming Vermilion Bird-or rather, two other colors, one white and one blue.
The white was the spirit-mind purifying flame, and the blue was the Wine God Heartflame.
The two flames worked in perfect harmony. The Wine God Heartflame held the flaming Vermilion Bird firmly bound, preventing it from breaking free or escaping, while the spirit-mind purifying flame devoured it like a ferocious beast that had starved for eight hundred years.
What Xue Fuyao did not know was that the spirit-mind purifying flame was itself a very special kind of flame. It grew by devouring other heavenly flames.
Under these circumstances, possessing the spirit-mind purifying flame meant that she could not possibly possess a second flame. Yet for some unknown reason, the spirit-mind purifying flame had spared the Wine God Heartflame back then rather than devouring it.
Now that it had finally encountered another heavenly flame, the spirit-mind purifying flame naturally would not pass up this feast again.
Below, Xue Fuyao simply watched as the flaming Vermilion Bird was devoured
