Within the Barrier, a massive dragon, purple from head to tail and wreathed in lightning, stood between heaven and earth.
After a brief moment of shock, Xue Fuyao finally noticed that this was not a dragon at all, but a plant shaped like one.
As far as she knew, there was only one plant that looked like a dragon: the Eternal Evergreen Vine, ranked second in the Record of Strange Spirits. Once it reached a hundred thousand years of age, it would not only grow incomparably enormous, but also take on the appearance of a real dragon.
But according to the records, the Eternal Evergreen Vine was green, completely unlike this purple plant wreathed in lightning before her.
Could it be a mutation?
Xue Fuyao suppressed her excitement, because she was not the only one inside this Barrier.
She counted at least a dozen other people within the Barrier, each with an extremely powerful aura. It seemed they had all come for this mutated Eternal Evergreen Vine.
As the second-ranked entry in the Record of Strange Spirits, the Eternal Evergreen Vine had not appeared in the world for a very long time, and records concerning it were exceedingly scarce. But one thing was certain: there had to be a reason it could rank second in the Record of Strange Spirits. This one in particular was not only mutated, but almost indistinguishable from a True Dragon in appearance. It had to be more than a hundred thousand years old.
Xue Fuyao observed the people around her and found that every one of them was staring fixedly in the Eternal Evergreen Vine's direction, yet none showed any intention of moving.
But there was no Barrier around the Eternal Evergreen Vine. Why were they not moving, and why did they look so wary?
