Gungnir's Lock-On, the Substitute Death Trump Card Quietly Held in Reserve
The blue-white light was like a red-hot Steel Needles, piercing deeply into Lynn's pupils.
A sharp pain shot through my retina, and the world before my eyes rapidly faded, leaving only a single, ever-expanding, destructive spot of light in the air. The Ozone smell in the air was so strong it made me nauseous; every breath felt like swallowing razor blades.
The Gungnir's lock-on effect brings substantial pressure.
Lynn felt his spine bending little by little, and the meniscus in his knees cracking under the strain. Blood surged wildly in his veins, as if it wanted to burst through the skin and evaporate.
"Get out of here!"
Hela's hoarse roar came from behind. This once invincible Goddess of Death had a hint of panic and sobbing in her voice that she herself was unaware of.
She forcefully shook off Lynn's grip on her wrist, trying to push this reckless mortal away.
"You can't stop him! That old man will crush you and your soul!" Hela suddenly raised her other hand, gathering the remaining black Death Energy in her palm, trying to forcefully shake Lynn out of this place of certain death.
How could Lynn possibly let her have her way?
This was a performance he risked his life to build, a show he painstakingly brought to its climax. Now that it's been pushed aside, wouldn't all that blood he shed have been for nothing?
He clenched his teeth, his mouth filled with the strong taste of blood. His ten fingers gripped Hela's wrist like iron clamps, his nails even digging deep into her cold flesh.
I told you, shut up!
Lynn whirled around, his bloodshot eyes fixed on Hela. A sneer, arrogant and unquestionable, stretched across his mud- and blood-stained face.
"I, Lynn, said I would be your shield, and I will never back down an inch."
Hela froze. She stared at Lynn's hand, which had split open from the extreme force, blood dripping from where their wrists met onto the Obsidian floor tiles. The scalding blood burned into her heart like a branding iron.
For two thousand years, she has always been the one who sheds blood for others.
"You're insane..." Hela's lips trembled violently, the thick armor of arrogance in her eyes shattered completely, replaced by an extreme panic called "losing a loved one." A morbid possessiveness grew wildly at this moment, and she grabbed Lynn's waist tightly, trying to use her body to shield him from the blow.
Lynn took the initiative, grabbing her chin and forcing her to raise her head.
"Look at me." Lynn's voice was hoarse, yet it carried a domineering edge that struck straight to the soul. "Remember my face. Remember, in these Nine Realms, only I am worthy to die for you."
Hela's tears finally welled up and spilled over. Mixed with the ashes of the Underworld, they left two glaring tear streaks on her pale cheeks.
She was completely smitten.
Seeing Hela's desperate yet obsessed appearance, Lynn appeared deeply affectionate and resolute, but in reality, he was as calm as a finely tuned computer.
"System!"
Lynn frantically issued commands deep within his consciousness. "Prepare to trigger the Substitute Death Skill immediately! Turn off the Pain Suppression, I need the most realistic near-death experience!"
If it doesn't involve excruciating pain, how can it be realistic enough? If it doesn't reach the extreme of suffering, how can this Universal-level Yandere be completely locked in your own fishpond?
Odin in the sky remained expressionless, his single eye coldly gazing down at the two embracing figures below, as if looking at two insignificant ants.
"The price of arrogance."
Odin snorted coldly. The energy on the Gungnir had reached a critical point, and the surrounding space was violently distorted like boiling water.
The divine light of destruction is about to pour down.
Lynn took a deep breath and concentrated all his Psychic Power on the progress bar flashing red on the System Panel. The moment the beam touched his skin, the Substitute Death Mechanism would activate perfectly.
I'm absolutely certain.
However, just as Lynn was bracing himself for the excruciating pain that could vaporize stars, deep within his consciousness, his Spider-Sense suddenly emitted an extremely sharp hiss, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on!
This is not a warning from Simulated Space-Time!
Lynn's heart sank.
The viewpoint instantly pierced through the virtual Underworld Palace and switched back to the Real World.
The clear night sky over the New Mexico desert was suddenly torn apart by a pitch-black Thunderstorm Clouds. Gale-force winds, carrying coarse sand, lashed against the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ' SUV, creating a crackling sound.
"What the hell is that?!" Coulson shouted in terror, holding up his binoculars.
"Boom--!"
A bolt of lightning as thick as a bucket cleaved through the clouds and struck the ground.
Immediately afterwards, a massive War Armor, three meters tall and gleaming with a cold metallic luster, crashed down from the clouds with a deafening sonic boom.
Thump!
The earth trembled violently. The War Armor slammed heavily onto the sand dune less than 100 meters from Lynn's unsuspecting body. The violent Impact whipped up a cloud of yellow sand and overturned several S.H.I.E.L.D.. SUVs.
Dust storms rose into the sky.
The metal mask slowly slid open, revealing two destructive orange-red flames that illuminated the War Armor's face and locked onto Lynn in the distance.
