As the title says.
The book goes premium tomorrow, February 1, at noon. I'll guarantee at least 10,000 characters.
It currently has a little over 13,000 bookmarks. I honestly have no idea how many first-chapter subscriptions I'll get tomorrow. To be honest, the bookmark count really is pretty low.
I'm still pretty nervous.
After all, just before going premium, I came out with an unpopular plotline where Green Forest lost a battle and the protagonist fled. That probably cost me some active readers. Anyway, I haven't dared ask my editor about the active readership these past few days.
Even the last update was 3,400 characters because I wanted to get through this part of the story faster.
I didn't want to change it, either, because I happened to reach this part just as it was time to go premium, and I was definitely going to get that 1,500 full-attendance bonus.
I still have high hopes for this book. After all, they've been implementing anti-piracy measures lately, so if the results are decent, I'll probably update as much as I can.
But I'm also really scared.
Those of you who've been reading all along probably know what bookmark-to-subscription ratios and abandonment rates are like for Draconic novels.
When I was writing my last book, two veteran Draconic authors outright abandoned theirs. Their bookmark-to-first-subscription ratios were over 20 or 30 to one, and then they completely lost heart.
Although mine was also over 20 to one back then, I clearly handled it a little better...
Whether this book can take off all comes down to tomorrow.
For an author, a low bookmark count isn't scary.
Low first-chapter and average subscription rates are the scariest things, because they mean a book has no potential at all.
So, to all of you who keep
