If the man on the other end hadn't been his boss, he really would have made a fuss.
He pays my salary. He pays my salary!
After repeating that to himself several times, Assistant Shen adopted the attitude he reserved for the man who paid his bills and patiently explained how to post on Moments to his boss, who had never posted there before.
Fu Yunting was no fool, of course, and quickly got the hang of it.
Then he made his first-ever Moments post.
Fu Yunting: Good night #Photo#
Just those two words, accompanied by a photo of a soft little mound on the bed.
After posting it, he put his phone on silent and went to sleep.
He had absolutely no idea what a stir his post had caused.
He was a big boss, after all, and had been a prominent figure at school, too.
Even the people he never contacted made up quite a sizable list on his phone.
There were people he had added during his school days, current business partners, relatives, and some company employees.
Quite a few of them liked browsing Moments, and their eyes went wide with shock when they saw his post.
Huh? Were they seeing things?
They refreshed the page. It was still there!!!

Th-this... really was a Moments post from Fu Yunting!
Early the next morning, Fu Yunting opened his eyes and felt something burrowing against his chest.
He looked down and saw a fluffy little head.
Right, his sweet little niece.
The little one wasn't awake yet. Her entire head had disappeared under the covers.
When he lifted them, he found her tiny body curled up against him.
Her hair was soft, and her skin was fair and delicate. Her pretty little face was flushed pink, though he didn't know whether that was because she had been under the covers too long.
Fu Yunting checked the time. Seven o'clock.
Without disturbing the little one, he tucked her back in and went out for his morning workout.
He was in the habit of exercising in the morning.
When he returned an hour and a half later, Qin Yan had woken up, too.
She was sitting dazedly on the bed, trying to wake up properly.
The unfamiliar surroundings left her little head rather muddled, as though she couldn't work out where she was.
"Hungry? Let's go downstairs for breakfast."
With her hair sticking up in a slightly messy tuft, Qin Yan stared at the man walking in with her big eyes.
She looked adorably muddled.
Cute.
"What is it?"
Qin Yan slowly shook her head, evidently having worked out where she was.
Sticking her little bottom up, she huffed and puffed as she straightened the bedding piled messily on the bed, then clumsily climbed down.
She put on her little slippers and picked up Tuantuan.
There was another bar of soap today, a lovely, fresh lemon yellow.
She picked it up and sniffed it. It had a lovely, fresh fragrance.
"Uncle, what scent is this?"
Fu Yunting took it and sniffed it. It smelled of lemon.
"Lemon."
"This one smells pretty good."
Qin Yan took it back and sniffed it herself.
Smells lovely~
But all of Tuantuan's soaps smelled lovely. Tuantuan was a super-duper Slime.
Fu Yunting was genuinely interested in that Slime now.
"Let me have a look at Tuantuan."
Qin Yan handed Tuantuan to him.
"This little thing really is pretty amazing."
"I'll feed you some tea leaves today and see if you can produce a tea-scented bar of soap tomorrow."
He didn't like wearing perfume, but he didn't mind the soap this Slime produced.
The fragrance lasted a long time, too.
For example, when he woke up that morning, his bedding had been full of a sweet grape scent.
Some had even rubbed off on him.
If this Slime produced a scent he liked, he could give it a try.
Qin Yan took the lemon-scented soap back to her room to wash up.
First, she checked on the little fish.
Fu Yunting came over afterward to have a look, too, and discovered that the fish was actually still alive.
"This fish... its eyes weren't this color before, were they?"
He narrowed his eyes, feeling that there was something sinister about this fish.
He took a photo and sent it to the fifth brother, Fu Nanshan.
Fu Yunting: Take a look. What's going on with this fish?
"Hm? Why are there so many messages?"
He checked and discovered that they were because of last night's Moments post.
Several people he knew had messaged to ask who was in the photo.
Someone had even asked whether it was his child.
Fu Yunting checked his Moments again. There were already around fifty replies beneath the post.
-Wait, since when did you have a kid?
-When did you get married? Why didn't you tell me?
-Cute. I want a closer look.
-The baby must be so sweet when she's asleep.
-Oh my, you actually know how to post on Moments now.
-Good night, Mr. Fu.
There were all sorts of replies. Some were clearly from relatives, while others were from employees and business partners.
Fu Yunting picked a few relatives to reply to.
Fu Yunting: Not my child. My niece.
A message came in from Fu Nanshan.
Fu Nanshan: Something's wrong with that fish. Don't get too close.
Fu Yunting immediately grew serious.
That fish was being kept in the little one's room.
Fu Yunting: Our niece brought this fish home. She's had it for two days.
Fu Nanshan: It looks a bit like it's been polluted.
Fu Nanshan: But Polluted Aberrations are all aggressive.
Fu Yunting glanced at the fish, which lay half-dead in its tank.
It wasn't aggressive, but it certainly was ugly. That part did fit the characteristics of Polluted Aberrations.
This world was not peaceful. Five years ago, creatures that had never existed on Water Blue Star had appeared.
Two new kinds of energy had appeared in the air.
One was positive energy, and the other was negative pollution energy.
Negative pollution energy was extremely harmful to both humans and the other living creatures on Water Blue Star.
Those that were severely polluted would turn into hideous, mindless monsters that did nothing but attack and destroy.
Fortunately, a small number of people could cultivate using positive energy and keep those Polluted Aberrations in check.
So far, those Polluted Aberrations had only appeared in isolated areas, so the world as a whole was still functioning without major problems.
Most people didn't even know about these Polluted Aberrations.
Their country, Dongyan Country, had done particularly well in this regard. It had established a department specifically to deal with these aberrations and continuously monitored pollution levels nationwide. Whenever an aberration appeared, people would be sent to deal with it.
So everyday life hadn't changed much for everyone.
Apart from Fu Yunting and Old Master Fu, the other four members of the Fu Family all essentially worked in professions related to dealing with aberrations.
Publicly, however, people only knew about two of them.
That was why Fu Yunting knew more about these things than most people.
Now, as he looked at the seemingly docile, utterly harmless fish, his brow furrowed deeply.
Clearly, he had never encountered a situation like this before. Even Fu Nanshan wasn't entirely sure about it.
Qin Yan came out after washing up.
"Uncle?"
Fu Yunting said, "Sweetheart, has this fish done anything strange? Have you been feeling unwell at all?"
The direct effect of pollution on the human body was illness.
Mild cases involved minor colds and physical weakness.
In severe cases, people would become irritable and uncontrollable. Their eyes would gradually turn red, and the skin on their bodies would undergo different changes depending on the type of pollution, until they finally became monsters.
Qin Yan shook her head blankly.
"No."
"I'm not sick anymore."
Her body had pretty much recovered under their care, and now she no longer felt sleepy all the time.
