I've Seen This Episode Before!

Kraft had a feeling something was off when Peter approached him earlier. After glancing at him, he felt something was peculiar but couldn't quite put his finger on it. He scrutinized Peter for a long time before finally realizing the source of his unease—Peter Parker's usual dorky glasses were missing.

"Oh, these!" Peter touched his bare nose bridge, saying nonchalantly, "I made a friend this semester, right? His father is the chairman of the Osborn Group, and they had a research project on curing myopia that needed volunteers, so I participated. Accidentally, I got cured."

"Oh? Aren't you afraid of accidentally being blinded?"

Kraft knew the friend Peter mentioned; he'd met him a few times. Harry Osborn, a rich kid with a decent personality.

But Peter Parker was too daring, casually joining such an unproven and unperfected experiment without fear of any problems. If he had this much courage normally, Kraft wouldn't have looked down on him so much.

It was just a correction for myopia, not exactly human experimentation, but Kraft still disliked such things.

"This research was already in its final stages, so safety was guaranteed. Even if it failed, it wouldn't cause any harm to the participants. I was able to join thanks to Harry."

Peter explained a couple of things, then patted his forehead as if suddenly remembering something.

"I have to go help over there. Let's chat again when we have time."

With that, he slipped away.

"I feel like this guy is hiding something from me..."

Peter's demeanor was significantly more confident than before. Did curing myopia also solve psychological issues?

Kraft shook his head, not paying it too much mind.

Maybe he finally managed to date Mary Jane?

Recalling Peter's usual timid nature, Kraft chuckled and shook his head.

"As if..."

"Phew... almost got caught by Kraft..."

After Peter Parker slipped away, he walked to a secluded corner and let out a long sigh. Then, he annoyedly smacked his own head.

"Bah! So pathetic! Why am I so afraid of that kid Kraft!"

The whole story about the Osborn Group's myopia research was, of course, a lie. However, it wasn't entirely unrelated. His myopia disappeared after being bitten by a spider while visiting the Osborn Group's product expo.

Along with it came significantly enhanced physique, a mysterious danger sense, and the ability to walk on walls at will...

Just like a spider.

Peter Parker, who had only possessed these strange abilities for two days, had not only taught Flash Thompson, who had always bullied him, a lesson at school, but his relationship with Mary Jane had also seen significant progress. This made him instantly confident.

He was so confident that he dared to approach and provoke Kraft today. Unfortunately, Kraft's long-standing intimidating presence was too strong. Moreover, Kraft didn't bully him with brute force like Thompson. Not to mention, he had Aunt May as his backing. Thus, Peter Parker, who impulsively ran up to provoke him, quickly calmed down after a casual glance from Kraft and decisively backed down and ran away.

However, after backing down and running away, Peter Parker felt a bit ashamed. He already had special abilities, so how could he be easily bullied by someone four or five years younger than him?

Peter Parker felt he needed to regain his dignity as an older brother.

"Woof?"

A dog bark startled Peter Parker, who was busy cheering himself on. He looked down and saw a goofy-looking yellow Shiba Inu tilting its head and looking at him.

"Oh, Quinn, good boy, why did you come over?"

This dog, with its hilarious appearance and remarkable human-like intelligence, had recently become the star mascot at the shelter, and Peter naturally liked him very much. He crouched down, ruffled Quinn's head, and affectionately nudged his black nose with Quinn's black nose.

Kraft is actually able to raise such a well-behaved dog! No! This must be Alice's credit. That brat wouldn't have the patience to train a dog!

Peter Parker thought with a mix of envy and jealousy as he played with Quinn.

"Big brother! Peter Parker is hiding something from you!"

Back home, Quinn, wearing his red scarf, immediately ran to Kraft to tattle.

"Oh? What is it?"

Kraft asked absentmindedly while helping Alice, who was cooking. He wasn't curious about Peter's secret, but if he could use it as leverage to tease him later, that would be great.

"I don't know, he didn't say," Quinn wagged his tail, weaving around Kraft's feet. "He just said he almost got discovered by you, and then he kept rubbing my face."

"Oh, I see..." Kraft put the cut potatoes on a plate, shook the water off his hands, and reached out to pet Quinn's head. "Good job. I'll give you an extra meat bone later."

This silly dog was so eagerly seeking praise, all he wanted was a reward. Kraft had already planned to reward Quinn for helping at the shelter today, so he just went ahead and gave him the reward he was already going to receive.

"Yay! Thanks, big brother!"

Quinn, unaware he had been tricked, happily wagged his tail and ran out of the kitchen to show off to Bear.

Soon, the sound of him arguing with the little black cat could be heard from the living room.

Yeah, Kraft was used to it.

After these two little guys caused trouble a few times and were severely disciplined by Kraft, their interactions were now mostly limited to arguments. Occasionally, Bear would slap Quinn a couple of times out of impatience before retreating to a high perch, leaving the defeated dog to bark below.

"It smells so good," Not long after, Martin's head suddenly appeared at the kitchen doorway. He smiled and glanced inside, praising, "I haven't even eaten yet, and my mouth is watering. Alice's cooking is getting better and better."

Even though he knew Alice was just a robot, she was incredibly thoughtful and sensible, far more so than that brat Kraft. Thus, Martin Li quickly accepted her as a member of the family.

After dinner, Kraft, who had a busy day at the shelter, didn't intend to return to the lab to continue working. The family sat in front of the TV, chatting and watching a somewhat boring program to pass the evening before heading to their respective rooms to sleep.

And Kraft, for the first time in a long while, had a dream.

The scene, full of futuristic technology, filled Kraft with joy, but what he saw next as the protagonist of the dream left him dumbfounded.

Kraft could say he went through the entire dream with his mind in a complete mess. When he sat up in bed, he still had a look of utter disbelief on his face.
