"Hey, Peter, what's wrong?"

Dr. Curt Connors patted the absentminded Peter Parker on the shoulder and asked with concern.

"Have you been too tired lately? How about I give you a couple of days off?"

"Ah, no, that won't be necessary. Thank you for your concern, Dr. Connors." Snapping back to his senses, Peter waved his hand. "I'm fine. I was just, um, a little distracted."

With the help of his friend Harry Osborn, Peter Parker had interviewed for an internship in a research project funded by the Osborn Group and led by Dr. Curt Connors, which focused on cross-species genetics and human limb regeneration. His outstanding performance had earned Dr. Connors's approval.

"If one of your family members or friends had to engage in some, um, illegal activities for special reasons, but stopping him would likely hurt him, what would you do?"

After vaguely describing Martin's situation to Dr. Connors, Peter looked at him hopefully.

"Oh... so it's that kind of question..."
