For a moment, the atmosphere in the Parker household became somewhat awkward.
Aunt May shot Peter Parker a helpless glare, then scolded him, "What are you standing around for? Hurry up and pick up the gift Kraft gave you! Getting scared like that over something from a little kid... you really are something else!"
"That was just a reflex! It's not like you don't know what Kraft has done to me!"
Peter Parker defended himself indignantly, then stepped forward and picked up the box from the floor.
After picking it up, Peter planned to return to his room and see what was inside. He did not dare open it in front of Aunt May. If that brat Kraft had put some prank device inside, it would be bad. It was unlikely to hurt anyone else, but Peter would definitely make a complete fool of himself in front of Aunt May.
"Wait, Peter."
Aunt May suddenly called out to him. She stepped forward, grabbed Peter's arm, and pulled up his sleeve, revealing an arm covered in bruises.
"What happened to you?"
"Oh, it's nothing..." Peter hurriedly yanked his sleeve back down to cover his arm and brushed it off. "I just accidentally fell earlier. I'll go back to my room and put some medicine on it."
With that, he hugged the box and ran back to his room.
Aunt May watched Peter's retreating figure worriedly. Those bruises were clearly not from a fall, but she did not press him further. She planned to discuss it with Uncle Ben after he came back.
Peter Parker ran back to his room, locked the door, and slowly let out a breath.
