After sealing Jackie Chan and Valmont (Shendu) inside a storage scroll, Sasuke casually put it away with the scroll containing the Twelve Talismans and the Book of Ages, tucking them into his waist pouch.
"What's going on?"
Everyone noticed something was off about Sasuke's actions, and Karin asked him outright.
"When Jackie Chan grabbed that brush just now, I felt a fluctuation of energy trying to free him from my control. Unfortunately, compared to mine, that energy was still a little lacking, so it failed.

Sasuke shared what he had discovered.
"Then you should've said so earlier. There was no need to seal Jackie Chan away." Karin rolled her eyes in exasperation.

It was only sealing him away, not killing him. Letting him out when needed would work just as well and wouldn't hold anything up.

"Whoever he is, as we keep moving, he'll show himself before us eventually! Besides, he couldn't even break my Sharingan's control. His strength can't amount to much!"
Sasuke spoke with a look of disdain.
Although Sasuke was much more cautious than in the original story, the pride in his bones was no empty boast. Whenever it was time to look down on someone, his "Uchiha-style" arrogance was never absent!
