Early Genius and Decline

Xiao Yan is an Earth transmigrator who became a celebrated young genius in the Xiao Clan. His clan descends from the Xiao Clan of the Ancient Eight Clans, although Yao Lao initially did not know this ancestry 2 19 22.

Expecting Nalan Yanran to arrive and dissolve their engagement, Xiao Yan hosted the group’s first in-person gathering at the Xiao Residence. The Xiao Clan’s three elders then deliberately left him and his guests without seats, prompting Jiang Xian to intervene 18 19 20.

When Nalan Yanran and Ge Ye presented the Misty Cloud Sect’s request, Jiang Xian defended Xiao Yan’s standing as a Fenglingyueying disciple before leaving the decision to him. Xiao Yan revealed his recovered cultivation, publicly repudiated Nalan Yanran, wrote a letter ending their engagement, and rejected the sect’s compensation. He nevertheless gave her a drop of Divine Spring to cure Nalan Jie’s Brand Poison and settle the families’ past ties 20 21.

Qingshan Town and Xiao Yi Xian

After his successive breakthroughs and adoption of Red Emperor Fire Emperor Qi, Xiao Yan set out toward the Tagor Desert. He first gave Xiao Zhan and Xiao Xun’er an Immortal Blood Pill each, then stopped in Qingshan Town to obtain the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame Fragment Map 30 31.

He joined the Myriad Medicine Pavilion’s herb-gathering party while displaying only Nine-Star Dou Zhe cultivation. Following Xiao Yi Xian to a cliffside cave, he took the map and left its other contents to her. He then offered to resolve her Woeful Poison Body in exchange for her joining a faction he intended to establish. She agreed, but the treatment remained dependent on gathering the necessary materials 31.

Before departing, Xiao Yan killed the Wolf Fang Mercenary Group’s key members with a single Buddha’s Fury Fire Lotus to protect Xiao Yi Xian 31.

The Tagor Desert and Stellar Cultivation

In the Tagor Desert, Xiao Yan visited Xiao Ding and Xiao Li, gave each an Immortal Blood Pill, and took Qing Lin as his younger sister. With Qing Lin accompanying him, he livestreamed his search for the Green Lotus Core Flame to the chat group 32.

Xiao Yan located the flame underground, but his early arrival meant Medusa had not yet excavated a passage. Jiang Xian crossed worlds to create a tunnel and helped Qing Lin subdue the Two-Headed Fire Spirit Snake. Xiao Yan then entered the magma and refined the Heavenly Flame without resistance 32.

Xiao Yan’s confidence returns rapidly once he learns that his talent was never ruined. He refuses to accept Nalan Yanran’s compensation as charity, yet still supplies medicine for her grandfather. His response combines pride in his restored standing with a willingness to settle obligations rather than simply retaliate 20 21.

He is generous toward those who support him. He offers his teacher’s pill-refining services to the group, hosts an elaborate meal and shopping trip, and shares Immortal Blood Pills with family and loved ones. His confession to Xiao Xun’er explicitly centers on her loyalty during the three years when others abandoned him 11 22 23 31 32.

In the chat group, he frequently jokes about cheats, titles, and his friends’ overwhelming abilities. He proposes calling himself the “Flame Heavenly Emperor,” offers to trade his “old grandpa” for a system, and pretends to have forgotten the Flame Mantra after obtaining a superior technique 3 4 30.
