Ch. 1Unique-Tier Talent: Fate Hint

After recovering his memories at eighteen, Zhou Heng logged into Boundless Endless, a dangerous online world where new players faced steep odds. He received the unique talent Fate Hint and was pulled into the game along with his classmates, while their teacher wondered how many would survive.

  • Zhou Heng reviewed news about Boundless Endless and recalled that he had chosen the Despair difficulty and his own transmigration conditions.
  • A young teacher warned the students about their limited chances to die, the danger of trusting others, and the value of returning to Blue Star with any lifespan they gained.
  • Zhou Heng visualized Boundless Endless and recovered the details of his transmigration, including his cheat, Fate Hint.
  • Zhou Heng received his level-one attribute panel and discovered that his unique talent would give him tangible hints when he faced choices of fate.
  • A light enveloped Zhou Heng and the other eighteen-year-old students worldwide, transporting them into Boundless Endless.
  • The teacher lamented that many students might not return alive, as the game's entrenched classes and divided resources left ordinary players with few opportunities.

Ch. 2Glorious quality: Spiritglow Sickle

New player Zhou Heng used his unique Fate Hint talent to avoid a deadly Black Bear Guild quest and found a farmer at Little Bird Town’s livestock farm. Helping her harvest grass with the Glorious Spiritglow Sickle gave him permanent stat increases, and he agreed to return the next day.

  • Zhou Heng entered Boundless Endless and saw the Black Bear Guild recruiting new players to gather blackwater grass for unusually generous rewards.
  • Fate Hint warned Zhou Heng that the guild’s quest could kill players, so he went to the livestock farm instead.
  • Zhou Heng met the elderly farmer and agreed to harvest pasture grass in exchange for an unexpected reward.
  • The farmer lent Zhou Heng the Glorious Spiritglow Sickle, whose harvesting effects permanently increased his stats.
  • Zhou Heng harvested the pasture grass until night, gaining 5 attack, 20 health, and 20 mana, then returned the sickle.
  • The farmer asked Zhou Heng to harvest two more fields the next day, and he agreed.

Ch. 3One Fate Hint After Another

Zhou Heng harvested two fields of Pasture Grass, gaining permanent stats, then passed the old woman’s questions about the Sakas Empire and received a dangerous delivery quest. Fate Hint warned him that the quest was a trap, but he accepted it and left his next move unresolved.

  • Zhou Heng got up early and harvested both fields of Pasture Grass for the old woman before nine at night, gaining 10 permanent attack and 40 permanent health and mana.
  • Zhou Heng told the old woman that the Sakas Empire had begun to rot, earning her approval.
  • The old woman asked Zhou Heng to take a badge to the Deepwater Flood Dragon Worm in Deepwater Cave within three days.
  • Fate Hint warned Zhou Heng that the Black Bear Guild planned to contaminate the boss and that the quest was a deadly trap.
  • Zhou Heng accepted the quest despite the warning.

Ch. 4Bargaining with a Tiger

Zhou Heng ignored the quest to deliver the badge to the Deepwater Flood Dragon Worm and instead used Fate’s hints to secure an introduction to the Black Bear Guild. He joined the guild’s Little Bird Town branch, where Black Bear Ba offered him a difficult task.

  • Zhou Heng accepted the quest to deliver the “Light and Sword” badge to the Deepwater Flood Dragon Worm, then decided to wait rather than go to Deepwater Cave.
  • Zhou Heng overheard the mayor’s daughter accuse him of colluding with the Black Bear Guild over its purchase of Blackwater Grass.
  • Zhou Heng praised the Black Bear Guild to the mayor and claimed his talent gave him a permanent increase of 15 attack and 60 health and mana.
  • The mayor arranged for a guard to take Zhou Heng to the Black Bear Guild’s Little Bird Town branch.
  • Black Bear Ba welcomed Zhou Heng into the guild, and Zhou Heng accepted the invitation.
  • Black Bear Ba offered Zhou Heng a difficult task.

Ch. 5The Flame Gauntlet's Path Forward

Zhou Heng accepted Black Bear Ba’s quest to gather 1,000 Blazing Flames and discovered that absorbing them could evolve Flame Gauntlet. After draining most of his mana on the first flame, he decided to ask the Black Bear Guild for supplies, while Fate revealed a chance to loot the guild during an attack that night.

  • Black Bear Ba gave Zhou Heng the quest to gather 1,000 Blazing Flames in two days and advanced him the Flame Gauntlet skill.
  • Zhou Heng traveled to Blazing Flame Spring, discovered how to collect the flames, and learned from a Fate hint that they could evolve Flame Gauntlet.
  • Zhou Heng absorbed a Blazing Flame and evolved Flame Gauntlet to Simple+, but the process consumed most of his mana.
  • Zhou Heng decided to seek Small Mana Potions from Black Bear Ba instead of spending his own copper coins.
  • Fate told Zhou Heng that the Black Bear Guild would be attacked at two o’clock that night, giving him half an hour to loot its resources.

Ch. 6Perhaps fooling people was just this simple

Zhou Heng used a fabricated story about a hidden field of fluorescent grass to trick two Black Bear Guild gatekeepers into lending him a resplendent-quality bag. He left the compound with the bag, delighted that his deception had worked.

  • Zhou Heng chose to visit the Black Bear Guild's resource compound after seeing the new Fate Hints.
  • Zhou Heng offered cigarettes to the gatekeepers and claimed he had found a safe spatial rift full of fluorescent grass.
  • Zhou Heng negotiated for a larger bag by offering the gatekeepers a share of the supposed harvest.
  • The gatekeepers privately agreed to lend Zhou Heng a resplendent-quality bag in exchange for seventy percent of the proceeds.
  • Zhou Heng took the bag and left the gatekeepers' sight, then chuckled as he looked forward to inspecting it.

Ch. 7A frenzied harvest, a feast for beginners

Zhou Heng used a brilliant backpack to loot the Black Bear Guild’s resource warehouse during an attack, escaping with valuable items and thousands of mana-restoring supplies. At the Blazing Flame Spring, he inspected the skill book he had stolen and realized its requirements made it unusable for now.

  • Zhou Heng received a brilliant backpack with 99 slots and a stack limit of 99, then waited until around two in the morning before heading to the Black Bear Guild’s resource outpost.
  • Three black-robed figures attacked the outpost, and Zhou Heng seized the distraction to enter its warehouse and receive a temporary quest that rewarded him for transferring resources into his backpack.
  • Zhou Heng stole the skill Raging Waves, the Great Sun Divine Bow (fake), a Ceramic Shard, 1,000 Small Mana Bottles, and 5,000 Small Mana Potions.
  • After noticing he had spent more than twenty minutes inside, Zhou Heng abandoned the rest of the warehouse loot and escaped before Black Bear Ba returned and discovered the three missing items.
  • At the Blazing Flame Spring, Zhou Heng examined Raging Waves and found that learning it required water-mage qualifications, substantial water damage reduction, and repeatedly reading the Water Ripple Codex.

Ch. 8The Unknown Ceramic Shard

Zhou Heng equipped the Great Sun Divine Bow, stored the unknown Ceramic Shard, and evolved Flame Gauntlet before returning to Little Bird Town. At the general store, Fate Hint warned him that the shopkeeper’s three-silver-coin price for an Experience Book was a scam amid a currency crisis.

  • Zhou Heng equipped the Great Sun Divine Bow, raising his physical attack from 16–32 to 46–92, and put the unknown Ceramic Shard in his backpack.
  • Zhou Heng repeatedly absorbed Blazing Flame until Flame Gauntlet evolved into a Simple++ skill that negated fire damage below 20.
  • Zhou Heng returned to Little Bird Town and overheard players discussing the Sword of Light’s attack on the Black Bear Guild and Black Bear Ba’s investigation into missing items.
  • Zhou Heng went to the general store and asked for 100 health potions and an item worth three silver coins.
  • The shopkeeper offered Zhou Heng a Common-grade Experience Book for three silver coins, but Fate Hint revealed the market price was 5,000 copper coins and that one silver coin had become worth 100,000 copper coins on the black market.

Ch. 9Evolution, Burning Rage

Zhou Heng exchanged a silver coin for copper, bought an Experience Book and health potions, then evolved Flame Gauntlet into the powerful common-grade skill Burning Rage. After learning the Experience Book, he prepared to level quickly before the Black Bear Guild corrupted the Deepwater Flood Dragon Worm.

  • Zhou Heng recognized that the Black Bear Guild’s payment hinted at the ceramic shard’s value and negotiated with the voluptuous woman to exchange a silver coin for 50,000 copper coins.
  • Zhou Heng bought an Experience Book and 100 health potions from the voluptuous woman, who discussed his badge and the players on Blue Star with the Old Matron and Captain.
  • Zhou Heng returned to the Blazing Flame Spring, passed the other players, and repeatedly absorbed Blazing Flame until Flame Gauntlet evolved into Burning Rage.
  • Zhou Heng learned Burning Rage and read the Experience Book, which granted bonus experience for defeating creatures.
  • Zhou Heng planned to use his school-taught techniques and Great Sun Divine Bow (Fake) to reach level 10 before the Black Bear Guild corrupted the Deepwater Flood Dragon Worm.

Ch. 10The Longevity Family

Zhou Heng entered Wind Grassland and chose to challenge the Longevity Family player there, leveling up by hunting Wind Sheep with the Great Sun Divine Bow. He encountered a cold girl from the Longevity Family who demanded that he leave and surrender the bow.

  • Zhou Heng used Fate Hint to learn that killing the lone Longevity player in Little Bird Town could earn him an Extreme Long-Range Shooter class scroll, so he entered the Longevity Exclusive area.
  • Zhou Heng hunted Wind Sheep with the Great Sun Divine Bow, reaching level 4 and gaining three points of attack.
  • A Longevity Family girl approached Zhou Heng and ordered him to leave the area and hand over the Great Sun Divine Bow.

Ch. 11Slaying Longevity

Zhou Heng defeated a skilled Longevity Family player after activating Burning Rage, then found and claimed a rare class-change scroll she dropped. He became an Extreme Long-Range Shooter, gaining powerful stat growth and long-range abilities.

  • The Longevity Family girl outmaneuvered Zhou Heng and nearly killed him with arrows and rapid kicks.
  • Zhou Heng activated Burning Rage, overwhelmed the girl, and killed her with a point-blank shot.
  • The girl dropped a scroll, and Zhou Heng recognized it as the Extreme Long-Range Shooter class-change scroll.
  • Zhou Heng read the scroll's abilities and changed class to Extreme Long-Range Shooter.

Ch. 12Upheaval: The Emperor Beheaded

After changing to an Extreme Long-Range Shooter, Zhou Heng used the Great Sun Divine Bow to kill Wind Sheep from afar while the resurrected girl received resources from her family in Little Bird Town. News of a coup in the Sakas Empire and the emperor’s beheading prompted both the girl and Black Bear Ba’s guild to prepare for the coming ninth chapter of the first expansion.

  • Zhou Heng changed to the Extreme Long-Range Shooter class, greatly increased his attack, and began killing Wind Sheep across the grassland from extreme range.
  • The resurrected girl reached Little Bird Town, where a nine-person squad from her family delivered resources and told her that a coup had destabilized the Sakas Empire.
  • The girl learned that the Sword of Light was tied to the coming ninth chapter and that her brother wanted her to develop quickly and take over as Frost City’s city lord.
  • The girl gripped a skill book and warned that she hoped Zhou Heng would not use the class-change scroll, while secretly showing murderous intent toward him.
  • Black Bear Ba’s subordinates concluded that Zhou Heng had stolen the guild’s Great Sun Divine Bow, Brilliant Backpack, and Ceramic Shard.
  • Black Bear Ba ordered his guild to act early after learning that the Sword of Light had beheaded the emperor and that Hero King Karenna’s holy sword might have awakened.

Ch. 13A Big Gamble

Zhou Heng learned that the Longevity Family player he had killed was about to receive powerful resources, leaving him six hours to strike again, and he resolved to attack her in Little Bird Town. After leveling up and returning to town, he discovered through Fate Hint that a seemingly fake flute at a stall was genuine and tied to a Forgery Master’s advancement trial.

  • Fate warned Zhou Heng that the Longevity Family player was about to receive family resources and would become much harder to kill, so he decided to target her again before she could use them.
  • Zhou Heng suspected the Longevity Family’s delayed delivery was connected to trouble in the Sakas Empire and saw the turmoil as an opportunity to rise.
  • After grinding Wind Sheep, Zhou Heng reached level 10, increased his attack, collected equipment and a skill book, and returned to Little Bird Town.
  • Zhou Heng examined an Elegant Ancient Flute and a Deepwater Flood Dragon statue at a player’s stall, recalling that appraisal descriptions could be forged.
  • Fate revealed that the stall owner was a powerful Forgery Master nearing Legendary and that the flute was genuine, urging Zhou Heng to buy it.

Ch. 14Elegant Ancient Flute

Zhou Heng bought the Elegant Ancient Flute and Deepwater Jiaolong statue, foiling a counterfeiter’s advancement achievement, then listened for information about the Longevity Family player he had killed. He learned she was staying at the Little Bird Inn and planned to find her for her resources.

  • Zhou Heng ignored Fate Hint Two and bought both items from the counterfeiter for 1,000 copper coins.
  • The counterfeiter failed his advancement achievement after Zhou Heng turned out to be one of the items’ genuine buyers, but he let Zhou Heng leave rather than risk the penalty for killing him.
  • Zhou Heng examined the Elegant Ancient Flute, suspected it was fake, and stored it with the unidentified Ceramic Shard.
  • At a tavern, Zhou Heng heard that the Black Bear Guild had placed a bounty on him and that a Longevity Family player had been killed by another player.
  • A drunken player revealed that the Longevity Family player was staying at the Little Bird Inn, and Zhou Heng decided to go there to find her.

Ch. 15Killing the Longevity Player Twice

Zhou Heng tracked down the Longevity Family player staying at the Little Bird Inn and pursued her through Little Bird Town. He killed her and took her Ten Thousand Jun Thunder skill book, while she vowed to find out who had sent him.

  • Zhou Heng bribed the Little Bird Inn receptionist to learn that a Longevity Family girl was staying in room 606.
  • The girl studied Ten Thousand Jun Thunder until her Alertness skill warned her of Zhou Heng breaking into the room.
  • The girl escaped through the window, and Zhou Heng chased her through Little Bird Town with arrows from his Extreme Long-Range Shooter class.
  • After the girl's blinking item ran out of charges, Zhou Heng's arrows killed her, and she threatened revenge while accusing someone of betraying the Longevity Family.
  • Zhou Heng took the dropped Ten Thousand Jun Thunder skill book from beneath her body.

Ch. 16The True Years

After killing members of the Longevity Family, Zhou Heng met the Farm Old Woman, who brought him to the Holy Sword and invited him to join the Sword of Light. He refused for now, choosing a new path hinted by Fate, while the Ceramic Shard flew toward the Holy Sword.

  • Zhou Heng put away the Ten Thousand Jun Thunder skill book, judging its requirements difficult for ordinary players and reflecting that the Longevity Family girl could not learn it either.
  • The Farm Old Woman arrived and told Zhou Heng she had dealt with the Patrol Soldiers and Black Bear Guild members before inviting him to follow her.
  • The Farm Old Woman led Zhou Heng through a spatial rift into a Sea of Stars, where she showed him Hero King Karenna's Holy Sword and explained its history.
  • The Farm Old Woman invited Zhou Heng to join the Sword of Light as a Sword-Bearer, and Fate offered him a choice between joining and opening the chapter "The True Years" for himself.
  • Zhou Heng declined to join immediately and asked to learn more about the Sword of Light, so the Farm Old Woman took back the Light Tree and Sword Badge.
  • After the Farm Old Woman left, the Ceramic Shard flew out of Zhou Heng's backpack toward the Holy Sword.

Ch. 17Sakast Imperial Sword (Sacred Sword)

Zhou Heng recovered the Sakast Imperial Sword and learned from Hero King Karenna that the official history of the Sakaste Empire concealed the truth about its rulers and victims. After receiving Karenna’s gifts, he left the Sacred Sword Starsea and headed toward Deepwater Cave to strengthen himself before the Black Bear Guild’s manhunt.

  • A Ceramic Shard joined the sacred sword, revealing its identity as the Sakast Imperial Sword and starting its restoration.
  • Hero King Karenna told Zhou Heng that Naren Sakaste forged the sword through human sacrifices and explained that she had suppressed it after discovering the truth about the empire.
  • Karenna entrusted Zhou Heng with the sword and her gifts, unlocking the hidden chapter “The True Years” and granting him the Sakast Imperial Sword.
  • Zhou Heng left the Sacred Sword Starsea without revealing his identity to the Sword of Light, suspecting it might be compromised by the Longevity Families.
  • Zhou Heng left Little Bird Town for Wind Grassland and planned to hunt level 10 monsters in Deepwater Cave to prepare for the Black Bear Guild’s attack.

Ch. 18Level 30 Boss: Deepwater Flood Dragon Worm (Blackened)

Zhou Heng watched the Black Bear Guild turn the level 10 Deepwater Flood Dragon Worm into a level 30 blackened boss, triggering a town-wide guardian quest. He chose to stay among the players and exploit the battle, but Appraisal revealed something horrifying about the monster and the Guild’s plan.

  • Zhou Heng joined the crowd gathering at Deepwater Cave and spotted Black Bear Ba, Yang Kai, and the Longevity Family Girl among the Black Bear Guild party.
  • Black Bear Ba’s group poured Blackwater Pus Gel and a strange green-yellow reagent into the cave, drawing out the Deepwater Flood Dragon Worm.
  • The pus gel covered the creature, blackening it and evolving it to level 30; players received the Little Bird Town Guardian Quest.
  • Fate Hint urged Zhou Heng to flee or hide among the players and strengthen the Sakast Imperial Sword, and he chose to take the risk and remain.
  • Black Bear Ba buffed the players and led them into battle, while Zhou Heng used Appraisal and saw information that filled him with horror about the Black Bear Guild.

Ch. 19Killing Intent at Every Turn

Zhou Heng exposed the Deepwater Flood Dragon Worm’s permanent-kill skill, revealing that the Black Bear Guild planned to sacrifice new players to empower it. As the massacre began, Long Blade, the voluptuous woman, and the old woman confronted Old Town Mayor Tate, who admitted the Longevity Family had promised to cure his daughter Talisa and extend his life.

  • Zhou Heng chose to warn the players about the Deepwater Flood Dragon Worm’s Slaughter skill rather than reveal his holy sword.
  • The darkened worm unleashed Acid Rain, and players discovered that Yang Kai had placed a Revival Platform beside him as the Black Bear Guild’s plan became clear.
  • The Deepwater Flood Dragon Worm swallowed fleeing players, confirming that those it killed could not revive and would die permanently.
  • At the General Store, Long Blade and the two women prepared to intervene against Yang Kai, Black Bear Ba, and the mayor, but Tate blocked their way.
  • Tate told the woman that the Longevity Family had offered to cure Talisa’s infertility and give him three hundred years of life.

Ch. 20The only chance of survival

Tate revealed that the Longevity Family could extend life to three hundred years and unleashed his Forest World domain as Longblade attacked him. Zhou Heng followed a Fate Hint by leading players into Deepwater Cave, where Yang Kai sealed the entrance with the Longevity Dawn, trapping nearly everyone inside.

  • Tate explained that the Longevity Family had turned life into data and used his Forest World domain as Longblade charged him with an enormous saber.
  • Zhou Heng learned that the Sword of Light was delayed and chose to lead the players into Deepwater Cave rather than surrender to the Longevity Family girl.
  • The Longevity Family girl and a wave of new players followed Zhou Heng into the cave, while Black Bear Ba rushed in after learning Zhou Heng had gone first.
  • Yang Kai revealed that the guild had planned to sacrifice Black Bear Ba and the others to target the level 60 Deepwater Flood Dragon King.
  • Yang Kai covered the cave entrance with Longevity Dawn, which prevented players level 51 or lower from escaping, except for members of the Longevity Family.
