Naruto's first night at Mount Myōboku was restless. In his dream, a huge, fat, black, wriggling insect was attacking him.
It wanted to pin Naruto beneath it and rub its disgusting body all over him to its heart's content.
Naruto fought back, but after he killed it with a Rasengan, dozens of white, wriggling insects crawled out of its black body.
"Nooo!!!"
As Naruto let out a desperate cry at the end of his dream, pinned beneath those disgusting insects, a beam of light shone from the distance.
His eyes opened. Faint dawn light streamed through the clean window, like an angel's hand pulling Naruto out of an endless inferno.
"Hey, Naruto, you're awake." A froggy head appeared outside the window. It was Sage Fukasaku, doing the cleaning.
"Mm-hmm. Good morning, Sage Fukasaku." Naruto nodded obediently. After yesterday's crushing blow, he had become much more respectful toward both sages.
"Oh, just call me Grandpa Fukasaku. What a good boy you are, Naruto."
Looking at the well-behaved Naruto, Fukasaku immediately thought of Minato, who had been just as endearing back then. Then he thought of Jiraiya, who was still sprawled spread-eagled in bed, and the contrast struck him at once.
Why had little Jiraiya, who was so... peculiar, managed to find such a well-behaved student and grandstudent?
Fukasaku picked up the soft white thing in his hand and began wiping the window of Naruto's house.
"Oh, Grandpa Fukasaku, what are you using to wipe the window? It's so clean." Naruto's eyes were still a little bleary, since he had only just woken up. Looking at the increasingly spotless window, he rubbed his eyes, then froze as soon as he finished speaking.
"Oh, you mean this? It's a Mount Myōboku specialty, a Cleansing Insect." Fukasaku laid the white insect he was holding
