"So that's how it is..." Lin Yuan nodded, lost in thought.
He hadn't expected that the seemingly sealed-off Shattered Island was merely one corner of a larger cage.
Previously, he had thought that finding the Sunken One merchant caravan would let him learn how to leave.
Now, it seemed things were far from that simple.
He could only go meet the lord of East Pole Island.
Still, judging by the behavior of the lord's subordinates, they were probably on the Players' side and should be fairly easy to talk to.
Having thought it through, Lin Yuan asked:
"Then how do I get to East Pole Island?"
Wuwei perked up.
"Don't worry, Brother Zero. That's simple. Just board our ship, and we'll take you to East Pole Island..."
"Ahem, uh, I'm afraid that won't work." Lin Yuan came up with a reason to refuse on the spot.
"My own ship is still here. I can't possibly leave it behind to go there."
"That's true." Wuwei nodded as well. "Besides, having a ship will be a big help in what comes later."
"But that makes things rather troublesome..."
"Tell me the method and route. I'll find my own way there," Lin Yuan suggested.
"That's simple enough. The deeper you go into the sea, the weaker the Time Maze becomes."
"Although Shattered Island, East Pole Island, and the other islands are separated on the surface, they're all connected underwater."
"Within the East Pole Sea Region, the Time Maze only works in the Shallow Sea and Main Sea. We travel back and forth through the Deep Sea."
That wasn't particularly surprising. When the Sunken Ones' ships had emerged from underwater, Lin Yuan had already guessed something of the sort.
But the Time Maze weakens with depth? That's a very useful piece of information.
