His killing intent was considerably stronger than Madara Uchiha's. Madara Uchiha could make people too terrified to fight through killing intent alone.
He could even immobilize those who lacked sufficient strength, yet even that had not completely subdued the two of them.
Hiruzen Sarutobi's expression was grim. As Hokage, his stance determined everything.
The Four Great Ninja Villages all spoke of fighting with their backs to the wall. As for whether they would actually do it, Hyuga Akira thought they would not.
But Hiruzen Sarutobi did not think so.
Soon, the other side took the initiative in the negotiations.
Hyuga Akira sighed. Hiruzen Sarutobi's attitude had put Konoha's negotiators at a disadvantage.
The first day's negotiations came to an end. Although the Four Great Ninja Villages had won a sweeping victory, their expressions remained grave. As long as Konoha held a weapon as deadly as Hyuga Akira, they had no means of turning the tables completely.
The representatives of the Four Great Ninja Villages returned to the accommodations prepared for them.
Everyone in the negotiating room was gathered for a meeting.
"Tell me, what should we do now?" Hiruzen Sarutobi asked solemnly.
Everyone looked at Hyuga Akira.
Hyuga Akira yawned. "If they want to fight, fight them. It depends on whether you have the guts."
He did not care how these negotiations turned out anyway.
He was not the Hokage.
"I'm tired," Hiruzen Sarutobi said wearily. "Let's not start another war."
He was tired.
Hyuga Akira rolled his eyes. After two wars, who wasn't tired?
Seek peace through war, and peace would endure. Seek peace through peace, and peace would perish.
Unfortunately, they did not understand that principle.
"I won't be attending tomorrow's negotiations," Hyuga Akira said. "From here on, it won't make any difference whether I'm there, will it?"
