Imprisonment and the Qian Family

Bibi Dong was imprisoned in a secret chamber and subjected to prolonged torment by Qian Daoliu’s son, who sexually assaulted her. Qian Renxue was conceived through that assault. Seeing her daughter consequently reminds Bibi Dong of her abuser, complicating her maternal feelings with resentment and trauma 10 18 19.

She later killed Qian Daoliu’s son. Qian Daoliu acknowledged his family’s wrongdoing and gave her the position of Pope, making her Spirit Hall’s actual ruler. Neither her revenge nor her authority resolved her hatred of the Qian Family 18 19.

As a teacher, she combines affection with strict concern for safety. She supports Hu Liena’s freedom to choose her cultivation path, praises achievement without encouraging arrogance, and refuses to accept Su Yu’s dangerous Soul Ring claims until she examines his body herself. Once evidence contradicts her expectations, she revises her judgment 10 11 12 13.

Her past initially leaves her deeply uncomfortable with men, including her male attendants. Her relationship with Su Yu gradually becomes an exception: she acknowledges her earlier distance, promises to treat him equally with Hu Liena, and allows him to show affection 6 10 11.

Her treatment of Qian Renxue is far harsher. She rejects her daughter’s attempts at closeness and invokes duty to justify placing her in danger, yet repeatedly shows remorse, fear, and maternal attachment in private. Story Role / Major Arcs

Taking Disciples

After the awakening ceremony, Bibi Dong sends Xie Yue to Spirit Hall Academy and accepts Hu Liena as her disciple. Su Yu’s full innate Soul Power interests her, but his demonstration of living, Soul Power-draining Wood Release convinces her to accept him as well. She also wants to prevent Qian Daoliu from claiming such a rare talent first. Both children move into Pope Hall that night 3 5 6.

The First Soul Ring Hunt

Bibi Dong personally accompanies her disciples to the Soul Beast Forest near Martial Soul Holy City. She initially rejects Su Yu’s request for a nine-hundred- or thousand-year First Soul Ring, then agrees to a higher limit after discovering that his physique is comparable to a Soul Elder’s 10 11 12.

She guides Hu Liena toward the Demon Charm Fox and obtains a thousand-year Ghost Vine for Su Yu. His successful absorption produces no Soul Skill, forcing her to reassess her understanding of his Martial Soul. She identifies the resulting improvement in Wood Release as a potentially beneficial alternative to conventional Soul Ring development 13 14 15.

Conflict with Qian Renxue

When Qian Renxue clashes with her disciples and insults her, Bibi Dong intervenes and slaps her. She immediately regrets the blow, accepts responsibility for losing control, and asks Su Yu and Hu Liena not to fight Qian Renxue again 16 17 18.

Qian Daoliu’s subsequent confrontation reopens her grievances against his family. She threatens further consequences if Qian Renxue returns to Pope Hall, but afterward admits that she cannot move beyond what happened to her 19.

The Heaven Dou Infiltration Plan

Bibi Dong proposes replacing a Heaven Dou Imperial Prince, eliminating the competing heirs, and eventually using the throne to bring the empire under Spirit Hall’s control. Her intended agent is Qian Renxue, whose inherited abilities can conceal her appearance and Martial Soul 22.

Despite Qian Daoliu’s opposition, she pressures Qian Renxue to serve Spirit Hall and refuses her request to call her “Mom.” Qian Renxue nevertheless volunteers, hoping to resolve the bitterness between them 23 24 26.

Qian Daoliu later exposes Bibi Dong’s fear for her daughter, leaving her in tears. After Qian Renxue departs, Bibi Dong privately asks forgiveness as her mother and orders Ghost Douluo to follow the party in secret 27 28.

The Freshman Competition

Bibi Dong commissions Xiao Yi to prepare her disciples and supervises Su Yu’s absorption of the Golden-Eyed Tiger’s External Soul Bone. She initially requires a top-three finish, then urges them to bring back first place 29 34 35 36.

Su Yu and Hu Liena win the team assessment with 223 Command Tokens. After Su Yu becomes the overall champion, Bibi Dong presents him with the Rising Star Medal and congratulates both disciples 39 44.

Recruiting Dugu Bo

Three years later, Bibi Dong consults Su Yu about Spirit Hall’s future. Though initially unconvinced that another Titled Douluo is necessary, she accepts his argument for recruiting Dugu Bo and authorizes a journey to Heaven Dou City with Yue Guan 44 45.

She declines to accompany them herself, explaining that a papal visit would attract excessive political attention. Her instructions are to approach Dugu Bo sincerely, avoid coercion, and investigate his background if he refuses 45.
