"What the hell is that?"
Someone screamed involuntarily.
The wind and sand tore the voice to shreds, but could not hide its terror.
Everyone stared fixedly at the sand ahead.
Countless tiny dots were pouring endlessly out of the ground.
The dense black mass made their scalps crawl.
"What on earth are those things?"
Amid the panic, someone suddenly roared, "Ants! They're ants!"
Everyone froze, then took a closer look-
The things pouring out gleamed with an eerie black sheen.
They were everywhere, densely packed, and the longer everyone looked, the more horrifying they became.
They really were ants!
"Desert army ants? Go!"
Someone had sharp eyes.
They immediately spotted the black ants charging straight toward them like a tide.
Without the slightest hesitation or any change in direction.
"Drive! Hurry! Speed up! Head for higher ground!"
The convoy's engines roared furiously, its tires carving deep tracks through the sand.
But the black tide of ants behind them clung like a festering sore.
It dogged them relentlessly, moving at a terrifying speed.
"Old Cao! What's going on with these ants?"
Yang Yong gripped the radio tightly, his voice trembling.
Cao Xianming was staring at the data model in his hand, his fingertips moving rapidly as he calculated.

"Are you sure they're following us?"

"They're not following us."

The ants were heading for higher ground too?
Then what exactly were they hiding from?
"Why? What's behind the swarm?" Yang Yong roared into the radio.
