Chen Gen reacted swiftly, rolling behind an ice sculpture.
The severed limbs battered the ice sculpture with a clatter, making a teeth-grating sound.
A severed finger landed right beside his foot. Its nail had turned bluish-black, and it was still twitching slightly, trying to grab something.
Chen Gen kicked the finger away, darted out from behind the ice sculpture, and sprinted across that stretch of road.
Then he looked up...
And froze.
Yang Yong had actually vanished.
Relying on his ability to fly and his speed, that bastard had not even waited for him.
Chen Gen felt as though he was about to cough up blood.
Behind him was a pack of eerie Entwined Crowds.
There were at least twenty or thirty of them.
In the distance, more Entwined Crowds kept pouring out of the darkness.
They never stopped.
There was no end to them.
The entire expanse of darkness was writhing, spawning new monsters.
This really was fucking hard to deal with.
"Yang Yong, you useless bastard! Couldn't you wait for me?"
Chen Gen shouted as he ran at full speed.
Unfortunately, all his abilities revolved around firearms. His speed was only a little faster than an ordinary person's.
His legs churned furiously, but compared with the Entwined Crowds behind him, which crawled incredibly fast on all fours, the gap was shrinking at a visible rate.
If Chen Gen had not found opportunities to fire behind him now and then, using the blue flames to hold off his pursuers temporarily, those Entwined Crowds would have caught him long ago.
Chen Gen bitterly regretted it.
Had he known, he would have brought someone more loyal.
