The skeleton monsters and Bloodwater Monsters surrounding the vehicle seemed to have lost their signal.
They stood there blankly, looking around in confusion.
They had forgotten what they had rushed over to do.
A moment later, they all turned and charged straight toward the other two off-road vehicles.
The sight left Zhang Bihuang and Xiao Yuxia stunned.
They had no idea what was going on.
Yang Yong, however, leaned against the back seat and let out a long breath.
"Just as I thought."
A faint smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.
"As long as it's pressed against our skin, those skeleton monsters and Bloodwater Monsters can't sense the presence of the living, so they won't attack us."
A brief silence fell inside the vehicle.
Then...
"Uncle! How come you're here?"
"What is this place?"
"Why did those skeleton monsters act like they were blind once we put the white bones from the ground against us?"
Zhang Bihuang fired off several questions in rapid succession.
His voice was hurried, as though he wanted to pour out all the questions that had accumulated over their month or so apart.

Instead, he asked, "What's the deal with those two vehicles behind us? Aren't they with you?"

She took a deep breath and began recounting their miserable experience.
"Those two vehicles aren't with us."
"We were doing fine before. Our camp was well established."
"Then that group suddenly charged in and surrounded our camp without a word."
"A fight broke out between the two sides."
"During the battle, a blood-red gate suddenly appeared and sucked the two of us in."
"Not long after we got here, we ran into these monsters."
