Before they could finish digesting their fear, the captain spoke again, every word seeming to squeeze out between his teeth.

"This place should be a passage between the two worlds."
"If we keep driving forward, we might go straight into the Eerie world."

An invisible hand seemed to have cut off everyone's breathing.

The apocalypse had supposedly begun with the merging of two worlds.
At the boundary of that merger.
Certain areas of their world would be displaced into the Eerie world, while some corners of the Eerie world would fall into the human realm.
Passages of some kind between the two worlds would appear at random...

Before that fear could spread, the captain dropped another thunderbolt.
"The convoy ahead seems to be called the Survival Convoy."
"Their captain is a very wise man, but he probably isn't of the Pathfinder Sequence."
"He told us to stop right here because he didn't want to plunge headfirst into the Eerie world."
"The Eerie swarming toward us will very likely be using this passage to enter the human world."

As though he wanted to nail every word into his teammates' heads.
"Remember, no matter what happens, don't open your eyes. Don't make a sound."
"Since the Survival Convoy's captain dared to give that order, it means the Eerie passing through here in a moment are most likely bound by some sort of rule."
